I don't get it that often anymore, but when I do, look out!....(with pics!)
On Saturday we hung out, ate at a great mediteranean style spot called Pita Jungle then spent the rest of the afternoon at my mother in-laws neighborhood pool. It was really cool, it has a beach entry lagoon pool where the kids were able to play in the sand.
Then that night we watched Ben Stiller in the Heartbreak Kid which I absolutely believe is the funniest Ben Stiller and funniest Farrelly Brothers film yet! I almost pissed my pants laughing during the "consumation" scene...
The highlight of the weekend, where the Wow comes in, was the hike we went on. It was my biggest and longest hike yet. 4 miles each way, starting out at a mile above sea level descending 1500 feet into a canyon.
The tough think is that the uphill part is on the way back. But the reward, ahhh the reward. At the bottom of the canyon is this:
That's
No, that is not me swinging in the photo, but i absolutely didn't pass it up. I did it, twice.
I can't tell you how great that felt. The water was kind of cold (72 degrees) but it felt so good, and the whole thing felt like such a victory. I even cliff-dived. Cliff-Diving!!! I couldn't believe it. I never thought I woiuld be doing something like that when I was sitting at home two years ago barely able to walk!
Well I posted about 25 more pictures in my google gallery. Check them out!
http://picasaweb.google.com/mbialowitz It looks like you had an awesome time - and to think pre-op this may not have even been possible for you. WLS is awesome. I love the pics, as always, you make me wish I was there. So when are you coming out to go hiking in the Wisconsin river valley? We've got some pretty cool trails....
Pike's Peak Iowa State Park...I guess not Wisconsin, but like 2 seconds from Wisconsin...
The view from the Pike's Peak lookout over the Mississippi River...so at least you can see Wisconsin...
Along one of the Pike's Peak trails in the fall...about 2 weeks before my bypass and the only picture of me on the trails...I think I need to update....
PS I agree with one of the first things you said - you definately do need to get a sitter and party with the wife. It's just the right thing to do
