Hey everbody! I just got home from the hospital this morning... The pain is pretty tolerable.  Right now I'm just resting and trying to move around and stuff.  I just wanted to update everyone and I'll be writing more I'm sure.. when I feel better! hehe LATER

Welcome home! I came home on the 22nd. The hardest part for me right now is getting my water in. So far I've only been able to get about 34 oz in =/. it's just soooo hard when it is uncomfortable to drink/eat. I'm not used to feeling full ALL day. Good luck with your recovery. Looks like we'll be in the same boat together ;]

yeah It's really crazy to be feeling this full.. How are you getting in ur tums, pepcid, and vitamins? Are u chewing them and drinking water? Or crushing them and putting them in something?.. How are u spacing them out so you can get them in twice a day? .. hmm this part is kind of tricky for me..

My doc only requires prilosec in the morning and 2 multivitamins  a day(chewable flinstones). Havent had any trouble with the pills and vitamins. I'm just not hungry and I have to force myself to eat. Getting in protein and water is definately an issue right now.

What is the Tums for, gas? If it is you may want to ask your surgeon if it would be OK for you to use disolvable gas-x strips, no swallowing required. As for pills, I swallowed mine, but my calcium Iand multi-vitamins were in a chewable form starting out, so really the only pill I had to swallow was the pain pills, and even those are available in liquid if you ask for them. But, trust me it will get easier to swallow as time goes by. Also, if you didn't already know, room temp liquids are often much easier to swallow then hot or cold liquids - for some reason many of us experience discomfort when we dring because of spasms in our esophagus. Good luck and welcome to the Loser's Bench!
