My 5k was bright and early this morning and went SOOO well...I beat my previous time which I had done during the training, so I was stoked about that...and I felt AMAZING!!!!!  I came in 80th and my time was 36 minutes 55 seconds.  My goal was to do it in under 40 minutes, so YAY FOR ME!!!  I know I jog slowly and some wouldn't consider that time to be the best, but I'm sooo proud of myself and am so happy with it!  Coming up on the finish line with everyone clapping and cheering was such a great feeling...even if it felt like I was going to pass out...lol....I can't wait to continue jogging and run more races.  At the camp I'm working at this summer they said that there is a marathon runner that likes to get up every morning and run, so my friend Allison and I are planning on running with him a few times a week at least.  I think I could potentially come back from this camp being close to my goal weight...wahoooooooooooooooo!!  (I'm on a little bit of a runner's high right now...hahahaha).  Well, I gotta go call my Mom and let her know I did it and see how she's doing! Happy Sunday!!!

36:55 is a great time for your first!  Be proud and gloat for a while. . .  The best thing you can do to keep things going is sign up for another race ASAP.  It has been the motivator for me, especially when the high begins to wane. . .

Hey Kim, congratulations on this huge accomplishment! It is an amazing thing to do. I have always wanted to be a runner, and now I feel like maybe I can be... Would you mind sharing how (and if) you started training for this? I can barely run for 5 minuites at a time, before I feel like I am going to fall over...Any tips?
