OT: DARK KNIGHT was AMAZING!!!
Being that I am a huge dork married to an even bigger comic-book-collecting dork, we had to go see the midnight showing of Dark Knight last night. Normally we are old people and are in bed by 10-ish, but we sucked it up and stood in line for an hour (even though we bought our tickets ahead of time) to get in to see Dark Knight. The theater was sold out, there were people there in costume (it was suggested to me that I dress up like catwoman, but even I am not THAT big of a dork) and it was AMAZING. Absolutely amazing. The movie was something like 2 and a 1/2 hours long but it just kept me captivated the whole time. Heath Ledger gave a morbidly-funny-genius performance and if this was the only movie he made in his tragically short life it would seal the "amazingly talented legacy" deal for his career. He was stunningly awesome, better than Jack Nicolson (and I love Jack, so I'm not saying this lightly). Such a good movie!
If anyone else has seen it, what did you think?

I haven't seen this one yet, but even though I am not a big sci-fi or fantasy person it is on my must see list for this summer.
BTW - if anybody ever catches me at a movie theater in costume please just go ahead and just immediatly smack the sh*t out of me on the spot...I will never figure that out....a couple weeks ago I took my kids to see Kung Fu Panda on the same morning that Wall-E opened and there were a couple of 15-16 year old boys standing in line at least an hour before the show started wearing home-made " I Love Wall-E" t-shirts - all I could think to myself was that those guys are so not getting laid anytime soon!

We saw it, too--Jeff and I both LOVED it. I did think it was a little long. It didn't drag or get boring or anything, but there were a few points where I thought it would stop to leave it open for the next sequel, yet it just kept going.
I never saw a Batman movie before Batman Begins, so I have no basis of comparison from the Joker. I'm marrying a dork, and I'm becoming more of one every day thanks to him, so I'm sure I'll be seeing the older movies soon...
