Ok, today I met with my surgen....things went well.  He seems confident...a little ****y...but I like him!

Anyway, so I have a few things to do...I have to get 5 years of documented weight loss... I have actually managed to track down 2007-2004....I may have possibly (hopefully) found 2003! (crosses fingers)  everything else as far as insurance requirements goes...I have got.  (according to their insurance lady)

She also told me that as soon as I bring them the documentation in quesiton....they will send it off.  In which...I will harass the insurance company until I get an approval....

I have a few questions....actually serious ones this time:

1) Did any of you have to have a pre-op diet??  (was it all liquids?)
2) What should I do the next few weeks, my doctor said for me to back off on going to the gym b/c he doesnt want me to drop below requirements for insurance... (as if that is possible or something)??
3) If any of you have a boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse how do you get them to see this as a positive thing?  My boyfriend is what I like to call a "chubby chaser" and he is worried that after I do this I will become a different person.  I have explained to him that some of the things about me will change, but I will always be me.  This surgery is a tool to improve my quality of life, now that I have lived through how rough and evil it/people can be, why would I want to be one of those people just because I'm "smaller"??  So has anyone had this as an issue, and if so...how can we cope and make it through this?

Thanks in advance....oh...and if anyone can tell me how to set up my signature...that would be awesome!

hi, wow it was a good meeting.

about your cuestions:

1. yes i did a preop diet 2 weeks before. it was a protein drink for breakfast, a chicken breat for lunch and a protein drink for dinner. i know that there is people who have a low carb diet. or a carb diet before surgery it depends of your surgeron.

2. do what your doctor says.

3.-  if we are talking about  a boyfriend. do what is better for you. if he don´t want you for the way you look. he don´t love you that much. when he sees you so happy he is gonna be more inlove..

take care, everything is gonna turn out great for you.

ps. if you find out how to set up your signature let me know. LOL

mariana.
