College
I wouldn't completely write off college cafeteria food. I managed really well at school once I got the hang of it. You just might have to get a little creative. For example, to make college cafeteria standards WLS friendly try the toppings off of pizza, the insides of tacos, hamburgers w/out the bun (or w/out half the bun), insides of sandwiches, and so on. If your school has a salad bar use it to supplement. Cottage cheese, cubed ham / turkey, cheese, cukes, tomatoes, and of course leafy greens - all good choices.
For the dorm room keep nuts (I love almonds), jerky, cheese sticks, veggies pre-cut (I have taken to slicing up a couple cucumbers at the beginning fo the week and putting the slices in individual containers so they are easy to grab - this would also work with things like carrots, cellery, cherry tomatoes), sliced lunch meats and whole wheat crackers. It'll take a little getting used to doing things differently but you can totally follow a WLS-friendly diet at college. Good luck!
