saggy skin?

Okay,  I posted this in the 20's forum because I have read that the younger you are, the better your chances of NOT having saggy skin!  I am 28 and will have my surgery in about a month and a half.il  I am perfectly willing to accept saggy skin if I have to, but am curious to hear other people's stories?  Was it bad?  Did you have it?  Anyone wearing a bikini????

Age, genetics, and many other factors come in to play when saggy skin is concerned. I was also told that I wouldn't have as much saggy skin as someone that was older.

That being said, I'm down over 100lbs, and I have saggy skin. Not a ton, but enough to be noticed.

My breasts are an absolute mess. I hate them with a passion, and I can't wait to get them fixed. My stomach has a bit of sag to it, but not enough to really bother me. I could probably get away with a bikini right now, but I'm not that adventurous. The insides of my thighs are saggy, and it's a royal PITA to find pants that fit right. My butt sags a little, but not enough to really bother me. And, I have little baby "bat wings". Nothing that bothers me, but they're there.

That said, if it bothers me, I'll go get it fixed. If it's not a big deal to me, I'll leave it alone. Keep in mind that it takes a while for your skin to "catch up" after surgery, so what seems saggy three months out isn't so horrible six months out. Some things get worse, but some seem to suck themselves in.

Good Luck!!!

that's a good point. wouldn't want to make any corrective surgery changes until you've given your skin a fair chance to catch up.  i was just curious about how it worked out with other people.  When you're chubby, your skin is taut and young looking (except for the stretch marks!).

thanks for sharing your story, i'd be happy to have the results you described!!!!  boobs can be fixed!  speaking of boobs.....did they get a lot smaller?

hey,

i've noticed a lot of sag, in the places already mentioned. i had a band then converted to a sleeve, so i didn't loose it quite as fast, but yeah, my lower stomach is especially bad the skin there has a fold-over there's so much skin. i was 22 when i had surgery, and i've only lost 70 lbs so yeah...

it does depend on your body type, and how fast you lose. i've noticed my 'bat wings' are significantly better than they were 4 months ago, so that's nice.

about my boobs- well, they're more than gone. it's kinda gross naked, but with a v.s. push up they look fine and no one can tell there's a lot more skin than fat. i only dropped 1 cup size. exercising plays a big role in this i find- because the body metabolizes core fat first [aka stomach and boobs] so that was where i really lost the inches since i've been working out a lot.

good luck

I've got the saggy skin.  I was also told that us youngins were less prone to have the saggy skin.  But I am almost a year and a half out next month and it's there.(I should mention it's probably mostly my own fault because I have not worked out these areas of my bod)  My arms are the worst part, tummy, upper thighs there is some saggy skin, but not too horribly bad.  Starting out I was a freaking DD.  Now I am a C.    Ya would have been nice if they could have stayed nice and full.  Oh well..... like chick said, get you a good push up bra and you can't even tell the difference.  Just don't go flashing anyone!  heheheheh

Here are a few pictures that I posted in my one year one month post-op RNY blog. Enjoy!

As you can see I have a bit of saggy skin right where my muffin top is and I do have a slight case of the bat wings (but that is because I do not work out at all). I am getting a breast augmentation/lift in January and then eventually may look into a tummy tuck to just smooth everything out (my surgeon Dr. Robert Davis suggested it). It's so darn expensive though so that will definitely have to wait! Good luck to you on your journey!

No bikini's for me!!! I need about 40K worth of plastic surgery... while others who were bigger/older would pay to have the body I have now... being younger I think we are wanting to have a 'normal' body more than somebody who is older... more pressure or whatever. I look fine in clothes but have a lot of belly flub left... my thighs are a little loose and I cannot wear shorts/skirts above the knee because I have that knee flub overhang... boobs, those are a hot mess.... I have the 'bat wings' but in my case I think the scar from PS would be worse then having the wings so that is one thing I figured I could live with. I think about PS each day and pray to win the lottery in addition to saving my money to be able to at least get a circumfrencial tummy tuck done.... that is the area I cannot stand the most... I would definately be a size 6 (maybe even a 4?!?) if I got rid of my belly.
