Oh HELL no! I have been working at this full tilt boogie for a year. I've worked hard, changed my eating and drinking habits, started and continued exercising, and lost some, but still have a long way to go. I know I can't do it on my own. I am so scared to cut my perfectly functioning stomach, but I know my surgeon is skilled and compassionate. I think right now I'm so scared of the immediate aftermath that I can't feel what life will be like in six months, healed, eating small amounts, and consistently losing.
It's hard to imagine being excited about IVs, anesthesia and surgery!
While being three hours away from my surgeon's office sucks, I do have a friend here in town who is also sleeved, a monthly local support group, and my OH sleeve sisters and brothers.
Wishing you, me and all of us smooth sailing through surgery and a successful recovery!
stuff so they make sure your sleeve incision is not leaking, I almost lost it because they kept making me sip it until finally i said if i take one more sip i will barf they stopped and I had no leaks. Then I was giving clear liquids and everything went down fine. Other then that and getting up and walking for the first time it was not that bad. Walking and sipping is your job for awhile and that is what i concentrate on all the time. I am now walking faster, can eat a whole popcicle at one setting, don;'t think the fullness feeling comes into effect until we start eating solid foods so as for the liquids they go down well sips no guzzling though. Today i was able to take some of my pills not chewables either but swallowed whole so happy about that, I am not tired at all and just rest here and there between sipping and walking, rest is important but I just am not all that tired but it is important for the healing process so rest sip walk repeat. So all in all so far it has not been that bad at all the first few days are a little hard not gonna lie, had some "Why did i do this moments" but they left quickly, kind of mourning food but not really hungry for just mourning it but I will be eating solids before i know it, everyone says the first few weeks are the hardest and the transition stage so I am just going with the flow and glad to be on the losers bench!!! Best of luck to you and a speedy recovery keep us October sleevers posted on your experience!!
