Yesterday was a good day until after dinner when we went to the play and found out it was cancelled!!! So we didn't get to see Beautiful last night! We can reschedule our tickets but DSD leaves this afternoon. So disappointing.
Today after a Justice walk we are playing golf, then eating lunch at the clubhouse. DSD flies out of the local airport around 4.
We had a great visit but are ready for some more routine downtime. Not that we won't still have things to do, but we won't be packing so much in.
DS made it to Honolulu and was very pleased with his hotel room other than the small fridge which he thought wasn't working. He was hoping the hotel would swap it because he was going to go to the food store to get stuff for breakfast/lunches. He does that when he works these conferences so he can spend his food allowance at dinner out.
Have a winning Wednesday!

We did get a thunderstorm yesterday, so I'm glad I got the covers on! They really were beautifully made and fit each piece like a glove (so much so, it took a while to get them on****il I got to the one for the dining table. I took it out of the package and it just kept going and going and going... It was like a circus tent! I looked at the label on the package and the SKU matched what I ordered (cover for 108" table for my model plus 6 chairs), but the description was for a humungous 180" teak table with 6 massive armchairs. First off, who puts 6 chairs at a 15 foot table? I called RH and the customer service was great. We had a laugh over how crazy it looked and she ordered a new one with lots of notes about checking what was being made (they are made to order). The weird thing was, when she looked up the SKU for the enormous cover it was completely different than the one for mine. So this was the right number, wrong description. Anyway, she said to keep using this one until the new one comes which might be a month.
My neighbor invited me for lunch tomorrow at a restaurant we go to a lot. I'm not sure that's the best venue for a hash out, but at least it will force my tone to be at a lower volume. She's trying. But I hear all of you on being wary of her going forward. Peps, your fool me once advice is very valid. My goal is to make sure this isn't an unpleasant place to live with so few residents in here.
Today includes some weeding, fur abatement (laundry, lint rolling, vacuuming), and maybe changing the house water filters. That last includes a project to attach a plastic mat to the wall behind the filters to keep the paint from getting wetas it usually does. I've had the materials to do itffor ages and haven't gotten to it.
But for now, Kirby and I are getting some morning sun, watching the orioles enjoy snacking on nectar from the trumpet vines. Scratch that, Kirby is throwing up weeds on the patio disturbing my morning zen. So I have to go clean that up... sigh.
Enjoy your days, all!
PS- sorry about the play, Liz! What a disappointment to show up to find it cancelled!
Dogs are a joy and sometimes not...
Sounds like your furniture came from a good company. Good quality and they rectify a mistake quickly.

Day of appointments. First off was a trip to my plastic surgeon's office for Dysport (like Botox). I had quit doing it when I retired due to the expense but wanted to look extra nice for the wedding in 2 weeks. Next was my annual gyn appointment. I had tried to go off Hormone Replacement the last few months but honestly menopause is kicking my butt and we discussed all my options!
DH and I will do an early dinner at the neighborhood Mexican joint where I will get my usual one chicken taco and refried beans.
Bella dog is ailing after her Vet appointment with rabies vaccination yesterday. Hopefully she will perk up tomorrow. We know she isn't feeling well when she declines a walk!
Hope DSD has safe travels home today Liz! Hope DS gets to enjoy Hawaii as well! Enjoy your downtime but I know that isn't much for you!
CC, sorry Kirby interrupted your Zen time with his puking. Good luck with your meeting with your neighbor!
I'm posting after dinner with my tummy all warm and pleasantly full with loaded bake potato. Such a simple concept, but so satisfying, and I have half the potato for lunch tomorrow.
Haha, an uneventful day leads to reporting I had a really nice potato! Other than that, there's not much to say :)
Today's win (besides the potato) : I think I've talked another teacher into leading my Tabletop Gaming Club next year. My quirky kiddos need a place to gather, and it has to be someone who gets them. One of my sped teacher friends said he will most likely step up.
Greetigs all
Sunny and warm today. I did my walking first at the gym and then went to the studio. Did some glazing and learned all the gossip. After that I hit the grocery store for steak and such. Bad timing- the middle schools kids were teeming in the store. A veritable mountain of back packs at the entrance.
So DH got his new bank account and is busying himself with the details of auto payments. He is a very detailed oriented person which i am not. Ho hum
Liz sorry the show was canceled. Safe travels to all your family.
CC glad your friend is coming around. Bet she feels foolish. A restaurant is a fairly drama free zone. And glad that your furniture and covers are good. And at least Kirby barfed outside and during daylight. I think DH has learned his lesson on feeding Tesla pizza. The farts last night were unspeakable.
Happy Tacos Paula.
Steak tonight here. Good reminder that it is all protein.
We watched some episodes of Hacks last night. Pretty good.

I had written a post on my school laptop during my lunch but got side tracked with spring concert stuff, etc... and forgot to submit. I'm too comfy at the moment to get my laptop out of my school bag and fire it up. So I shall do my best to recreate...

The fine print in my pre op instruction mentions GLP-1 meds! Says that if one takes it, you should not take it for a week prior to the surgery. Thank goodness I take it on Thursdays... Though I don't see what influence it would have taking a mild sedative prior to surgery. It's not like they knock you out or even do twighlight anesthesia. I was fully aware for my first cataract surgery, but nice and relaxed. It also mentions not eating any solid food the day prior to the surgery. Oops... However, none of that was discussed in my pre surgery phone call with the surgeon or the scheduling nurse. I'm not concerned, but you'd think if it's important enough to mention in the written directions, they'd mention it in the pre op phone appt.
I am now on work out restriction until next Thursday. BOOOOOO!!!! I believe my working out is a "bit of a cross addiction". I'm good with that. It beats possible other addictions (like my clothes buying post VSG). Next week my goal is an hour on the treadmill each day. I figure I can do a gentle uphill 3 mile walk at 3 mph. Shouldn't get me huffing and puffing, but it will be something!
Liz, BOOOOOOO on cancelled show. No fun at all. I'm sorry your DSD didn't get to see her friend's work!
My brother got our Anne Frank House museum tickets today! I'm excited to go. I'm sure it will be sobering, but I would not want to miss it. The tickets are time specific, too. We must enter between 6:00 and 6:15 pm.
19 flipping days of work remain....
