Greetings all
Overcast but it is not smoke. Just the usual haze. We do get smoke here in the summer and there is a significant fire northeast of here. Not a danger to us but not good.
So today I have more errands and have made a list that I have already misplaced. Geez if my head was not attached. Once I find or recreate said list I will run these errands and then go to the studio. There is a meeting there at 4;30 that I must attend as a board member. It will be the glass members *****ing because we are going to take away some of their space to use for clay members. There have been quite a few high drama texts and emails going around, some of which are selfish and juvenile so I am not looking forward to this. Wine purchase was one thing on my list...
So Liz that Block Island place looks so great. I love those older wooden buildings. So classy. On to your next trip!
CC sorry your Dad is having issues. Maybe Mayo is what he needs. They are pretty great. Meanwhile enjoy the architect stuff. For your darker room there are these things called solar tubes. Essentially a round skylight but they are unobtrusive and much cheaper to install. My scrabble friend just put two in her house and they are a nice light source but without glare or intensity. A thought.
DD I did not realize you were getting Canada smoke too. Not nice. I hope it is not enough to avoid the outdoors. Yeah walking is problematic. My advice is to walk outdoors as long as you can and not worry about speed or distance. Last I checked it is not a race. Enjoy the music tonight. Anybody use walking sticks? I have considered them though it may be another thing to trip myself on. Treadmill is good for now.
So yesterday I spent about 40 minutes on the phone with tech support for the Cal Tax department for gallery stuff. It was astonishing how much time this person could waste and manage to be no help at all. Problem still only partially solved. I am too old for the digital world.
Maybe steak tonight.

I put my lists on my phone, including packing lists for various trips which I keep and copy for trips of a similar length and type. DH is a paper list maker and often loses them LOL. The advantage of a list is so things aren't forgotten, but for me the disadvantage is that once I write it down it is as if my mind purges the information and I can't recall it without the list (so recreating it would be very difficult).
Good luck with that meeting. Wine afterwards may be needed.

Diane, as soon as I write a paper list, I take a photo of it with my phone. Until COVID, I kept all lists on my phone, but then went back to paper when I didn't want to touch my phone in public.

Popping in quickly from Ohio. Weather here has fluctuated wildly. Yesterday was well over 90 and HUMID. Today it barely hit 70, was rainy and felt chilly during parts of the day. Dog show is fine. Yesterday we did okay. Today we were hands down last place. As they say, another dog show. Naturally, I have discovered the local ice cream chain - Handel's. Naturally...
CC - sorry about your dad's health this year. Boooo. Not sure when you changed your avi to Kirby, but I like it!
Block Island looks like a wonderful destination!
Tsunami vs Tornado... Hmmm.... Hard pass on both for me.
Temperature fluctuations like that are difficult to deal with. Overheated one day and cold the next. Yuck!
