118.2 which would probably be lower but someone left Vienna Finger cookies here. I just can't resist those darn things in the evenings. One of the few cravings I still have. I plan to dump them out of the package into the messy trash this morning when I am being strong.
Yesterday DH golfed and I had nothing to do so I went to a local place to listen to music for an hour, then stopped at a restaurant for Happy Hour shrimp (along with a glass of wine). Leftover Italian chicken roll-ups for dinner, followed by several of those sneaky Vienna Fingers.
Very little sleep last night - maybe 2 hours? I fell right to sleep but sometime between 12 and 12:30 there were a couple of loud bangs outside. Firecrackers, car backfire, or gun fire? Hopefully not the last choice. Anyway I never went back to sleep though DH and Justice slept quite peacefully the rest of the night.
This afternoon my 2 SILs and my BIL who usually doesn't go anywhere are coming for an early dinner. BIL really likes DH so he said he would come. Makes me feel good! We are having quahogs (aka stuffed clams), corn on the cob, salad, lobsters and steak tips (the latter for BIL who doesn't eat lobster). A feast! We get the quahogs and cooked lobsters at a local fish place near us. We call in the morning and pick them up ready to eat.
Right now my coffee is helping me feel human. Time to walk Justice shortly. Have a sunny Saturday!

I'm sipping hotel coffee and enjoying a very leisurely dog show morning. I don't show until the afternoon today. A rarity!
The weather in the greater St. Paul area today is beautiful. It is sunny with a few white puffy clouds, and there is a significant breeze. IT's supposed to be in the 70s today and it feels far less humid than the past 3 days. Perfect dog show weather!
The dogs and I enjoyed our two morning strolls around the Sheraton. Buster is snoozing on the bed and Grizz is chewing on his back foot by my chair. Puppies do the strangest things....
I wish I knew my weight. I don't feel like I have been eating too much, but it's hard to gauge because I'm eating what's available - which tend to be much higher carb choices than I eat at home.
Ah, the meds... I have a theory: I think Wegovy/Mounjaro drugs behave differently depending on how much of the GLP1/GIP hormones you naturally produce. I think that those who feel greater effects from their small maintenance doses are probably producing a close to normal level of the hormone again. I think that those who feel lesser effects probably don't produce much or any of the hormone at all. For me, I am on the highest dose of tirzepatide I can be. It is a great tool for me, but I do have to work at weight loss at this point. I don't expect to get to my "goal" anytime soon.
Happy Saturday.
Your theory makes sense. It fits too with my thought that how heavy a person gets before an intervention and how well an intervention works is primarily a reflection of how poorly their metabolism works. Eating disorders, habits, lack of good medical care and education can also play a role, but I think disordered metabolism plays the biggest part. Again, making it so sad that there are treatments that can help, but are out of reach for so many.
Glad you are enjoying the cool weather that blew in! I am wearing long pants and a sweater :) It will be cool for several days, but we will eventually return to 80s at least for a little while in September.
Monday is workshop week for my former co-workers. I think it's really fun I can celebrate NOT going back to work (and banishing the ultimate Sunday Scaries) with you! Looking forward to dinner tomorrow!
Your theory definitely makes sense. I only went up 2 levels in dose to lose weight and then back down to maintain. Regardless it has finally freed me from "dieting" or even having to think about maintenance other than avoiding obviously dangerous things like Vienna fingers LOL.

If I were your BIL Liz, I would definitely leave my house for such a delicious New England dinner.
Like you, our sleep was fractured. There were people drag racing somewhere near our house. I kept waking up to revving engines and squealing tires and wondering why the police weren't shutting it down. Very strange, because we have a very professional police department *****sponds to complaints of dogs barking.
The morning started with a baptism for a great niece at the Cathedral in St. Paul, the seat of our archdiocese. It's really quite a beautiful church. Afterwards, brunch at my BILs house with nieces and nephews and babies. I got to hold my birthday twin niece while she slept and admire her perfect little pearl ears. And the little nephew born on Tuesday stopped by for brunch. I didn't know how they would feel about people holding their incredibly new baby, but they offered :). Auntie heaven snuggling babies all afternoon, and playing with my older great nephew and niece. And catching up with their parents. My heart is full.
I am still tying up lots of little details for my trip. I fly to Boston Thursday, August 28, and then we fly to Scotland on Friday, August 29. I feel a twinge about being away on my wedding anniversary, but DH is being very cool about it. We are rarely apart for so long, and that feels somewhat strange. We will meet up again on September 8, and then spend 2 weeks traveling in Massachusetts and New York state so it will be all good. It's a good life!
Your trip is coming quickly. So exciting!
I envy you with the baby holding. I haven't been around any for a long time. The last was my great nephew who is almost 5 now.

119.9 Yikes! No shot for me! (Said in my best soup Natzi voice a la Seinfeld!)
Continuing on with the decluttering/downsizing! 2 more huge garbage bags of mostly winter clothes taken to Goodwill and a handful more items placed on FB marketplace! Sold my RugDoctor carpet cleaner in less than an hour after posting and had many people vying for it. Guess I underpriced it. Oh well!
Took a DH walk today. Need to get them in since vigorous walking will be out for quite a while post surgery. Will try to get one last kayaking day in before surgery too!
Crab legs, cheesy biscuits and salad for dinner! Yum!
Enjoy your dinner meet up DD and Peps! If I was on the other side of the state, I would join you!
Good for you Liz on being able to entertain yourself when DH is busy golfing. I would probably just sit at home!
Are you planning on moving most of your furniture to Florida? Having to figure out what to do with all my stuff when I sold the Cape house last year was a royal pain though I am not sure much of it would have worked in the Florida condo. I just moved some miscellaneous pieces that had personal value to me.
