Monday, September 1, 2025 - Labor Day
118.6. Same - still some junk in the house yesterday but all will be cleared out by mid-morning. 6 of the weekend guests left last night and the remaining 2 leave this morning. So it will be just DH, Justice and me.
The wake and funeral for DH's friend's wife is right on the days we were supposed to be in Bar Harbor. It appears online that the same room is available the next 2 nights so we are trying to change it but haven't been able to reach them either via email or phone. It is an Inn so there aren't always people there to attend to business. Must try and reach them again today.
The beach was beautiful yesterday but I will probably skip it today. DH is golfing this morning and I will do the long Justice walk alone and work at getting the house totally back in order. I am hoping that the remainder of the chips and refrigerator junk goes, but if not will just dump what we won't eat and won't keep for a while. They probably won't be back for at least a month. Friends from central Massachusetts and now the Cape are coming our way for the afternoon music venue, then to dinner at our new favorite restaurant tonight. Maybe back to the house afterwards if there is time to have a fire in the backyard pit.
Have a lovely Labor Day!

Hello tribe, I am posting from Iona!! We are in love with the Inn we are staying in for the next 3 days. I'll post pictures on Facebook. As I posted on Facebook yesterday, we were not able to complete the last legs of the journey to Iona because both ferries needed for the trip were cancelled due to dangerous winds. We were on the morning train when we got the message, so I was able to make a hotel reservation. Once that was done, I relaxed into our fate and our day/night in Oban was fine.
This morning we got on the first ferry at 8:30am, were met by the driver on the other side, made it to the last ferry, and checked in at 12pm. We've had lunch (OMG a haddock chowder with a sandwich made with an amazing tomato chutney and cheddar cheese, the cheese is to die for in this country!). we're admiring the sea view from our window, and now that it is done raining, we are going for a walk, which will bring us to the massage therapist's home. We are going to have scalp and facial massages, and on Wednesday we will have 90 minute full body massages. Dinner tonight at 7, then off to the prayer service in the 1000+ year Abby (or the remnants of it, it has been reconstructed several times) at 9pm. then sleep. Feeling very relaxed for the moment. : )
It sounds like you are in heaven!!!!!

Greetings all
Sunny today. I had enough errands that I had to make a list. I went to the studio to pick up newly finished stuff and work on a few things. I then delivered stuff to the gallery and did the post office. I had to stop and get some liver sausage so I can get the monthly pills down the dogs. DH has strict instructions to not feed them stuff all day so they will eat. Fussy dogs. The ocean and bay up by the gallery were sparkling and beautiful and we had a great month last month.
The art museum was cool. It is just big enough for me and not one of those giant mega museums that wears you out. Three different art shows and all were good. Then lunch at a bar. Studio buddy might actually finish the house this year or enough to make it livable. I have given up trying to figure it out - she just marches to her own drummer and it is not very fast and stops often.
Started the series Hostage last night. Pretty good. Scrabble tomorrow where I am sure I will get killed. Then it is off to Costco to get the Ninja Creami. I feel like I need to pack provisions for a trek into that place but I am probably over reacting. Just need to be armed with a list.
Yay DD you are living the good life Scottish style! Charming inns, massages and cheese! Enjoy.
You hoo CC how soon until you go south? Summer seems short this year.
Liz glad the place has cleared out a bit.
Big salute to all the workers of the world! Yay.
Diane S.
Looking forward to reports on the Ninja.

123.9, still going up!
Mostly a lazy Labor Day. DH, DSD, DS2 and I went for a hike, I made lasagna for dinner and the kids and I went in the hot tub. Otherwise lots of couch time with phone surfing!
Even though I will have been off my GLP1 for about 2 1/2 weeks by surgery time, the pre-op instructions from the hospital said I needed to have nothing but clear liquids after breakfast tomorrow.
Good luck at scrabble tomorrow Diane! Enjoy the guestless time at home Liz, continue to make great memories with DD, DD! Hope you and Kirby had a great holiday CC. Peps, are you resting up from all your travel or on the road again?
Good that you had a hot tub day as that will be restricted for a while after your surgery. Is it scheduled for tomorrow?
