As I wrote the date I realized that Paula and her DH will be Florida residents a month from now!

As you saw, I did get the boots and a hat yesterday. I got a good price on the boots which have a little interest but aren't too over the top. I ended up buying the hat because in my mind I had money left over. But especially because when I was trying it on, a young lady said that it looked really good on me LOL.

We went to a basic diner like place for breakfast yesterday when we realized at around 9 am that we were starved. Of course our bodies thought it was noon time. So we just had some amazing guacamole as a snack at lunchtime in Old Town. Great dinner outdoors near here, then we went to a place to watch some bull riding. Those bulls sure didn't waste any time getting the humans off their backs. Though I know that people can get hurt doing it it seemed really well controlled somehow. Getting out of the parking lot was the biggest challenge. The place had filled up with a ton of people and their cars were all over the place.

Today is the wedding! We will probably eat breakfast again at a place of DSD's choice, then snack for lunch again. We need to leave to meet the shuttle for the wedding at about 3:15. We have to take a shuttle because the wedding is at the clubhouse of a private, gated community and it won't allow the number of cars required to get all the wedding guests there. I guess their security is pretty tight because though DH and I live in a gated community in Florida they will allow guests through for special events at the clubhouses.

Have a stupendous Saturday!

Greetings all

Another sunny beautiful fall day here. More Halloween stuff going up.Some people put up so so much holiday stuff I can't figure out where they keep it. There are no basements here. Must be storage units.

So our team played last night and lost miserably. DD it was to the Minnesota gophers!!! A very lame game though a great one for Minn.! But I see the Twin Cities are out big in the marches today and I assume you are too. We had a very large one here though too much walking for me.

So Liz, bull riding must be entertaining but scary to watch. Makes me cringe to think of those risks. Hope the wedding goes well and is fun. Nice destination. Before you leave Arizona you must go to a bar in your boots and do line dancing.

Studio buddy might come over in awhile to watch Oregon football. Meanwhile I am letting my hair dry. Lunch might have to be chili from a can since I did not get stuff to make any. The shrimp is tonight and will include teriyaki sauce but I don't think our guest will eat it.

Still piddling with clean up but the top of my desk is visible. Kitchen table still looks like a paper recycle bin in spite of the bags I have filled.

DH is busy studying ways to improve his balance. I told him about walking backward on the treadmill which people do at our gym. I will get him a membership when I am convinced he will use it. Our home treadmill does not have sufficient side bars to use when walking; only ones to the front. Plus it is noisy and I am spoiled for the nicer ones.

Eggs on toast for breakfast. Enjoying the good life here.

In New England everyone has a basement. Houses without them are a rare commodity. No basements in Florida because of the high water table, but why not in California? Earthquake risk?

In yoga you have to stand on one foot for an extended period of time. Good for balance but not easy.

Liz, the hat and boots look super fun! Did you wear them to the rodeo? Enjoy the wedding, shuttle and all.

Diane eggs and toast one of the simple joys that create a good life : ) When I was a student at the U of M, the Gophers one so infrequently, it was a big, big surprise when it happened. Seems like they are doing better in this era.

I'm waiting for more updates about my Aunt, but what I do know is when she is discharged from the hospital, she is going to need to go to a rehab facility for up to two months to relearn walking etc. Such a long road.

The rally/march was uplifting today. Beautiful fall day, couldn't ask for anything better. Chatted with a lot of nice people, and had some laughs at some of the more original posters. One crazy guy tried to lead us in a profane chant, and couldn't really get anyone to join him. He then started shouting, "It's a protest, why are you here? Go home". Sir, that is not why I came. I disagree strongly with the conduct of ICE, ( most specifically, grabbing people without warrants or other due process, including US citizens) and sending armed troops into our own streets. But I don't need to be vulgar. On the lightrail ride home there was a group of women my age, some from Minnesota, some who had flown in from out of state. They were staying at a hotel near Mall of America, and were full of plans about dinner, shopping, now that they had exercised their freedom of assembly. One told me, it's all about balance.

Still not packed yet for tomorrow's trip, but will finish up shortly. Everyday is forecast for the 80s, so it makes it easier to pack, summer clothes with a few light jackets thrown in for the evening. Looking forward to it.

Yes, I did wear the hat and boots to the Rodeo. I didn't look odd either LOL.

So sorry your aunt has to go through that. We get so fragile as we get older. My bone density results make me quite nervous about potentially falling and breaking a hip.

Always much easier to pack when the weather is predictable. Aruba packing is like that.

Going away party with our Bible study group was fun. Small gathering as some were sick, but nice to see everyone!

We found a way to go to the big football game. Will make the move a bit more inconvenient but when are moves ever convenient? Hopefully the change will make DSD a bit happier.

Selling stuff on FB marketplace like crazy! One of today's sales was the best. I had picked up a lift chair off of FB marketplace to use post surgery. We paid $50 for it and it was in really good shape. Worked great for that initial healing period. I was able to sell it for $100! Made $50 bucks and got to use a lift during recovery! Sweet!

Wow! That was a good deal with the chair! I have never been comfortable selling stuff that way. I don't know why but I just don't like dealing with strangers coming to my home (or having to meet them somewhere).
