Looks like Peps and Grizz had a good weekend in Napa this weekend. Nice place to visit. I wouldn't mind going back there.
Somewhat relaxed day yesterday though I did get 3 loads of laundry done and Justice had a bath. We ended up having both lunch and dinner at the beach club. We weren't there other than for meals though. We went to our outdoor music venue for a short time but didn't stay as the band had cancelled last minute and they had a DJ instead.
Today the bus leaves as usual in a little more than an hour. We will be back at the Beach Club by 1:00 to watch the Patriots play. There was a good contingent of New England fans there last week.
Thinking about CC's neighbor makes me think about our next door neighbors here. They are a bit more than 10 years younger than we are and from an extremely well-to-do family. They are friendly to say hi to and actual friends with many of our friends, a lot of whom are closer in age to them than us. I am still irked about the open-house party they had just before they left last spring (they just returned this weekend). They invited a LOT of people and were making a lot of noise until after midnight. Most of our friends were invited, but we weren't. Am I wrong to be peeved that we weren't invited? I would have if only because I would know that the noise would carry over. And BTW I had invited them to gatherings twice previously though they were busy each time. Is it our age, our financial situation or what?
Oh well - it really is like being in college around here. Time to think about changing for breakfast. This is the last warm morning for a while. It is supposed to be 40 degrees tomorrow morning. Have a stimulating Sunday!

Winter is here! A very light dusting of snow here reminds me once again that another year has come and gone, and I forgot to move to Florida. Well, at least Paula remembered! I am in full on winter gear this morning, wearing a bulky winter sweater and fuzzy socks. The windchill makes it feel like 14 degrees. DH was so sweet. He ran out and grabbed my NYT Sunday paper so I didn't have to venture out.
My brother sent me a video from the trail cam on our hunting property. It featured the most gorgeous buck, with a huge rack. He was giving off Bambi's Prince of the Forest vibes. I asked DH not to shoot this magnificent creature next weekend if he saw it. He said, you know if it passed by me, I don't think I could bring myself to shoot it. He then reassured me that nobody will probably bag him, because he must be a smart and cagey to have lived as long as he has. The trail cam is very entertaining, and a little spooky. Without it I wouldn't know that there are wolves, huge black bears and even a bobcat wandering around in the woods I used to play in. (Our land is a section of my Grandparent's farm).
The concert last night was marvelous. The vocalist, named Dessa, brought out a lot of younger people that I don't typically see at some of these venues. That's awesome, because if the art scene is going to continue to thrive in Minneapolis, they'll need them to turn out.
I think the trip planning to Brazil turned a corner yesterday. We want to visit a very pretty beach area north of the city we will be staying in. For many years it was bypassed by tourists and remained a collection of fishing villages. Tourism has arrived, but it sounds like it retains some of that laid back charm. We are going for 10 days, via bus. (About a 6 hour trip) There are some beautiful, but remote resorts, but we chose a fairly plain hotel, in a historic town, where we can walk to one of the many beaches. Our thought was it would be easier to explore multiple beaches from this location. We will use Uber to deliver us to a new one everyday. The first day we are there, we will go on a guided tour that will introduce us to 10 beaches! That way, we can pick out some favorites. It's a long held dream come true.
My weight continues to hold steady, and I don't even always remember to weigh each morning. I'm pretty much on auto pilot, besides a midday reckoning about how protein consumption is going. These last few years are probably the longest stretch of time where thoughts of food (either food noise or dieting) haven't been predominate. It's nice to just be.
Greetings all
Checking in while my hair dries. It is another calm sunny day. I will be going to the gym shortly. I may try to get DH out to take a walk with our without dogs. Nice day for it. I still use the treadmill because I just feel safer - not likely to fall. Might stop in at an open house nearby.
Meanwhile, a pot roast is in the slow cooker and is starting to smell nice. Years ago when I was employed I would sometimes put a pot roast in, go to work and forget about it, and then open the door to a wonderful welcoming smell.
Hmmm Liz, those people should have invited you. CC is right - different than a formal dinner. Your building is not huge right? And I have been thinking about weight bearing exercise. What if you wore a small weight belt while walking Justice? Two activities at once. But yeah it seems absurd to try to add weight for any reason.
Paula two days right? How freeing! Looking forward to your adventures in moving.
Peps Best Puppy at Napa! A big deal and money!!! I met up with Peps at those shows years ago. The show where you buy a glass of wine and keep the glass and get refills. Still have mine. Good luck today.
DD glad to hear the beautiful buck will be spared. As you said, he didn't get that way by being foolish. How interesting that wildlife camera must be!. Stay warm.
Our team won last night and the new kid quarterback was quite good. There is hope for our team. I am so getting into college football I feel like I should talk to CC's Dad.
Well if I don't get moving soon I never will.
