118 - up a bit but no surprise. Great food last night: shrimp, oysters, lobster, steak, and cream puffs. Yummy! It was a great party - 415 people with tables packed in the usual restaurant area and around the pool. Lots of dancing poolside (and as far as I saw, no one fell in LOL).
Today is water aerobics while DH golfs. First I will take Justice for his long walk alone. Need to get moving to get ready as I stayed in bed an extra 25 minutes this morning.
Dinner out tonight with DH's work friend and wife who just moved here. I wouldn't mind staying home as we will be busy all next week with DH's family but everyone wants to pack in stuff before the holidays.
The weather looks like it will continue to stay beautiful for at least the next week. A great start for Paula at her new home!
Have a wonky Wednesday!

I continue with a pretty low key week here. It's very fun to hear all about the social activities in Florida. While Florida weather sounds great, I can offer that at least it is not snowing here!
This morning I took care of a few more details for the Brazil trip. So many details. Once I've done all the research and put things in place, it will all run so smooth (hopefully) when we are there. I also made an appointment to get my flu and shingles vaccine today, and scheduled a teeth cleaning for the first available opening, which is in December. I have a terrible dental phobia, but also have great trust in my dentist. Sadly, he is retiring. Because of this, I have put off scheduling, because I rarely have a check up that doesn't involve some follow up treatment. I don't want to see a new dentist, but I must. Finally made myself tackle this task. Sometimes being a grown up is challenging.
CC, I hear you on the onions. Mine is garlic. Using fresh garlic in recipes smells so good initially, but the leftover smell is so bothersome. I will use your idea Diane, and simmer some cloves and spices after cooking with garlic.
Last night I made a real dinner with meatloaf, baked potato and green beans. DH was appreciative. I hope he is not expecting a repeat tonight, because we need to eat the leftovers!
In April, my weight floated up 4 pounds, and I couldn't figure out why, especially since I stopped taking Tomaxifen that month. Those pounds stuck around until October, but this month they are gone. Again, I don't see any big changes in how I'm eating. I wonder if it took this long for the Tomaxifen to leave my system and for my own hormones to settle? Anyhow, I am happy.
I had no reaction to the shingles shot. I generally don't have reactions. Just a couple of times (one being my first Covid vaccine). They said the RSV would probably make me feel sick. I didn't.

DD I too am a dental wimp. My trusted dentist retired last year and I had to find a new one who would take new patients (not many of those). But I did find one and she is pretty good and very gentle. I do confess to taking a klonipin before I go. New dentists often have newer and better equipment that makes stuff easier. ds
I find the hygienists who clean the teeth are more variable than the dentists. Some of them rip away at your gums while others are much more gentle.

So much rain here! It's been fun especially since my house isn't leaking. I did indeed get to work on the newsletter as promised. It's nearly done, but I need to add any notes from today's HOA meeting before it goes out.
My shoulder has been really hurting since June or July. Dr. Google said it was frozen shoulder. Claudia told me about a rehab device called the Shoulder Reliever that has increasingly weighted balls you attach to the end and twirl it around with your arm pointed it various directions. It's supposed to strengthen the tiny muscles in your shoulder to stabilize and improve ailments. I finished day 10 of 40 and darned if it isn't feeling better after months of pain! It helps with frozen shoulders, rotator cuff injuries, tendonitis, bursitis... If you ever hurt your shoulder, it's worth a try.
My dad is doing well and agreed to stay in the hospital until Friday for his antibiotic infusions. He's got his iPad for football and I added them to my Netflix subscription so he's engrossed in the Quarterback series on there. I'm so hoping this does the trick for him.
My house still has a vague onion smell, but it's much better. DD, I agree with you on garlic too. So much so, I don't use fresh garlic cloves to cook with and instead use that squeeze tube of garlic you can find in the produce section. I figure it's a step up from "jarlic", and is much more mild and less smelly than fresh cloves.
The feels like temp is 38. Brr.
Take care and have a good day!
I hope those antibiotics are working for your father. I will have to look into that shoulder device - my unreplaced one does get very sore at times.
