Like you, I am in charge of mashed potatoes for the clan, as well as Ron's step mom's spicy carrots in cream (another southern casserole family favorite).

More rain today and now we're fogged in. Fog is rare in the desert! I ran to Home Depot today for supplies to stand my tree up straight since I won't get the new tree until after Christmas. Came home, washed bedding and changed sheets, tidied the kitchen and went to the grocery store. I am going to make my mom's recipes for Thanksgiving and hang out in my jammies decorating the tree. I did have a few invitations, which is lovely, but I learned last year Thanksgiving recipes with the attached history and memories are what make it feel right. At least to me. To the neighbors who invited me yesterday, I offered to bring over cranberries to share as my grandma's recipe makes a lot and I only need a little. His wife said she'll trade me for dessert.. Score!

Tomorrow I need to go to Flagstaff to get dog food. I am currently feeding Just Food for Dogs, which Kirby loves (finally, he didn't ever like kibble), but that company is THE WORST for shipping. They charged my order and never sent it. When I called Friday thinking it would be easy for them to ship Monday, deliver Wednesday, they said they didn't think they could get it here and I should go to Petsmart in Flagstaff to buy it and they'd try to ship my next shipment in December. That's nuts. So I'm driving over an hour each way for that, plus it's more expensive than ordering from them. Argh.

Maybe I'll go to Home Goods up there to make the trip a little more fun.
