Greetings all

Finally an overcast day but still nice. DH went to lunch with the romeos and brought home pizza. There was also a minor emergency at the gallery - not enough small bills - so I made a quick trip and changed out what I could. Snarl in the petty cash due to a gob of $100 bills. all is good.

We had a lovely Thanksgiving at a friend's house. Everyone brought stuff and every single item was great. There were homemade dinner rolls that were to die for. It was a great time - all older people who are not relatives and who all agree on politics etc. Professional people who have all led interesting lives. Our host insisted on walking us to our car with the light of his iPhone. Mind you we both have our own iPhones. He just likes to show he can work it. And when we arrived we were greeted by a sentry deer. Amazingly we made it home with no leftovers. There were extra mashed potatoes but our host was happy to keep them. And I did learn that one friend is indeed on zepbound and doing fine.

Our team lost today miserably. Oh well.

Love seeing all your pictures of clans and food. Great time all - especially for Peps the puppy midwife.

Robot window washer CC! That sounds like a winning invention to me. Better to waive at the balloon people. You scored on the desserts from neighbors.

So pizza tonight for us. The turkey soup-ish stuff I made the other day was not so hot.

Gotta get back to the gym tomorrow. It will likely be packed.

I am glad you had a good Thanksgiving with your friends. Sounds like a compatible group. I bet you are right about the gym. Always the busiest right after everyone over-indulges on a holiday LOL.

Charcuterie boards are one of my favorite things. I think they are ideal for us sleeved people because you can eat a variety of tastes with sufficiently small servings. Yours looks lovely.

It was an unusual Thanksgiving. First going to my parents, instead of my Uncle's. It went pretty well. My parents were happy to see DD and maybe in a way it was better than the big party, because they had her all to themselves. Later in the afternoon, we did stop at my Uncle's house. Lots of reminiscing as this is our last gathering at their house. There was sledding, but I stopped bombing down the hill years ago, so I jus****ched. Our final stop was at our friend's house (Dh's BFF). Just as we pulled up his daughter texted our DD that our friend slipped on the ice when he walked his son and family to the car, and maybe broke his nose. Turns out he did! An unexpected end to the day. As we were driving home, DD said it's been weird, time to go home.

Today, against my better judgement DH and I did a little Black Friday shopping. It wasn't too terrible, and we did get the item we wanted for DS. Other than that, I made some soup, some tuna salad, and banana bread. Rather eclectic items, but all requested.

My parents are finally meeting with a geriatric social worker, so I will be driving out to their house again on Monday to attend the meeting.

So sorry about DH's BFF. That exact same thing happened to my DH's oldest friend last year so they are staying in Florida longer this year to hopefully avoid the ice (they have been coming down and renting in January the last few years).

Good news that your parents are willing to meet with a social worker. Time for them to get some help.
