I thought of that but it would be a big piece to paint and I am kind of tired of painting. I am going to look around at the secondhand shops though to see if I can find something light. We stopped at Habitat resale and they had tons of cabinets but they were all dark.

I'm a white light person! But all Christmas lights are great.

Vent work and light fixture installs continue. Drywall is going in this morning. The drywall guy is a smoker and his smoke aura is stinking up my house. Blech. I'm staying out of the way hanging out in the sitting area in my room. It's been a good opportunity to see all the dog hair tumbleweeds I've missed over here! And under the bed which I don't normally look at from this angle.

After today, they'll finish up on Tuesday. Bummer they won't be done tomorrow as I think they'll leave my kitchen covered in blankets, scaffolding, and plastic for 4 extra days, but drywall mud takes time to dry I guess. For someone who hates having people around working on my house, I sure have it happen a lot!

It's cold today (40 right now), but I think Kirby wants a walk. Must go find a coat...

Take care everyone!

Yeah, I don't like work people on my home either (as I sit on the lanai listening to the guys in the kitchen). I hope you will be able to get into your kitchen stuff over the next few days? I didn't think through today well as these guys are here all day and everything in the kitchen is covered in plastic. I was able to sneak my arm into a cabinet to grab a box of crackers and I had a protein drink accessible but that's all I have to eat. The sisters went to the beach club and will eat there and DH will eat at the clubhouse after golf. I did text him and ask that he bring some soup with a spoon when he comes home (I can't access the utensils either).

I got Chinese takeout on Sunday night and ate that for several meals (there's more, But i'm tired of it). Last night I got a pasta dish from Wildflower (I was going for soup and salad, but it was cold and salad at the last minute didn't sound good). I have the laundry room fridge and I can get to the microwave as that's in the pantry out of the blast zone. I also can reach the air fryer, so maybe I'll think of something for that?

When you yourself don't smoke, it's crazy how much you can smell it on others. DH's Uncle smoked a lot, and when I opened a baby present from them at a shower, the baby blanket smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke. It was incongruous that this cute little white blanket with bunnies should smell like a dive bar.

40 sounds cold to me too, just be thankful you are not in MI or MN like DD!

Yuck smoke! Hope they finish up on time. I don't think I know one person that smokes any more. Maybe because they are all deceased? So many people smoked when I was in college - even in class. Change for the better. dc

Surprising when you encounter it because it is so rare. He's a nice young man, the foreman told me the guy is a single dad so they were hoping to be able stay late today since he had him all day and didn't know when they'd have him for a stretch again. It's probably a stress relieving habit. Just like poor eating habits, it's hard to see the ramifications that come later when you're young.
