Must remember to type 2026 vs 2025.

I hope our ailing tribe members are recovering. DH is slowly improving and plans to play golf today. I don't think I would if I were him, but it's his choice. We didn't do much yesterday other than take 2 Justice walks. It was actually warm enough in the afternoon to take my jacket off. Today is supposed to be another 5 degrees warmer and by tomorrow be back to normal average temperatures for this time of year.

I finished reading This Tender Land yesterday. Thank you for the recommendation DD! Now I am in a dilemma as to what to recommend for my book club. I loved this book which is an uplifting coming of age story of four orphans fleeing a brutal school and making their way to a future during the depression. The other book under consideration is Maybe You Should Talk to Someone which is a memoir and contains some very moving accounts of both the authors therapy and the therapy of several of her patients. Very different books but both excellent choices. I may ask the woman who coordinates the club which one she thinks will resonate better with the group.

Not much planned yet for the day. Maybe I will take the Christmas decorations down. Or maybe I will go look at a china cabinet I saw on FB Marketplace which is a repainted older cabinet. It is about 1/2 hour from here so that may not be practical as I just remembered that I have yoga at 11.

Have a fulfilling Friday!

This sore throat is excruciating. Giving me flashbacks to my strep throat filled youth. I lost count of how many times it woke me up last night. I contacted my doctors office early this morning to see if she had any magic remedies for me, but I have low expectations. At least my fever is pretty much gone. I'm not even particularly tired or worn out, it's just agony to swallow.

I hope everyone is obsessively hand washing!!

The decorations are still up. It's gray and gloomy outside so they are still kind of cheerful. I'll worry about them when I'm better.

Nothing else to report!

You might want to get tested for strep too. Could possibly have that along with Covid. Sorry you are feeling so bad! My throat is super red but only feels scratchy right now.

It does sound like worse than the usual Covid throat. I hope your doctor can help.

It sounds like it's normal for the current Covid unfortunately! But I hope she's got something to offer...

My throat felt just like strep with my last bought of Covid! Hope you get relief soon my dear!

Interesting that the throat pain is from the inflammatory response rather than the virus itself. Body in overdrive!

Greetings all

It is overcast and drizzly and likely will be all week. Ho hum. Just trying to stay warm and well.

So we watched football all day yesterday. Studio buddy brought pizza and was less manic than usual. A good time. Put a pot roast in this morning so dinner is planned for tonight. DH went to lunch and brought home chili so we are well fed for the time being.

CC so sorry you have the killer throat. Miserable. I also had strep all the time as a kid - even to the point where they gave me a penicillin shot each month whether I was sick or not. But they left my tonsils. Do you have yours? Hope your doctor has a suggestion besides gargle sal****er.

Agreed Liz, if I were your DS I would skip golf. The china cabinet sounds promising. Already painted.

So I will look for Vernor's next time I am at one of the hippie grocery stores. They all have sections with unusual soft drinks. Sounds interesting.

Thanks for the links on the tai chi DD. We will check it out.

Well I am off to the studio to start a new year of creativity. Also need a vet apt for poppy for shots and such. And a nail trim.

DH said I was shouting in my sleep. I had a dream some bad guys were trying to tow our car away. No clue where that came from.

Pot roast to all.

On the tai chi videos, I love the contrast between the guy's New York accent and this ancient eastern exercise.

I must have had a conservative pediatrician. Despite having impressively large tonsils and having strep a lot, I still have mine! My doctor never called me back today unfortunately...

Strange dream! Maybe derived from some television show you watched recently?
