Greetings all

Another sunny day. How many more will there be before the monsoons. Who knows but it is coming. The plan for the day is a pharmacy stop, gym visit and studio visit. Sound familiar? I always like the days where I don't HAVE to do anything but can do as I please. Hate scheduling.

So DH had Mexican lunch today and brought leftovers home so that is dinner tonight. Another no cook day. Yay. We have been eating Costco shrimp for a couple of days. I found a new food fixation: quinoa. I like to eat shrimp and rice but that is a sort of empty carb so I got quinoa. 8 g protein per cup though I do not eat a cup. A bit of olive oil and shrimp and it is easy and good. Also fine for last night's dental status. The crown prep went fine. I do like this dentist and am developing trust. Usually takes me about 5 years to get used to a new dentist. Anyway all is well. And my housekeeper is healing from her broken leg. Wait til she sees what a fright our house has become.

Yes DD I am amazed that any Mexican restaurant in Minn is open at all. I saw a clip of one that refused to serve Ice agents. So glad to hear your dad has mastered the cell phone!!! Can you add the feature that puts written captions for him? And I hear you on the caller ID. I got the same on my words -with -friends after my BFF died. I think her daughter was cleaning up her iPad. Odd feeling. Yay for pedicures.

CC sounds like you are on the downward slope of sinus chaos. Good. Agreed you need a local CPA where you can go into the office and look them in the eye. I personally use the same one that the studio does so I am in there all the time and they know me well. Reminds me it is that time of year. Every state has its own tax peculiarities.

Liz that ship looks fabulous. And yay for the christening. Fun. Enjoy the cruise. Now I want one also. Must buy a new stove first.

Peps glad to hear the healing continues. Do they recommend a scar cream? Not that you have any visible ones. Years ago I had my double chin sucked out but I don't remember doing much other than wearing turtle necks for awhile.

Well onward. I must not let this sun go to waste even if I am inside on a treadmill.

If you are looking for rice substitutes, try farro. Looks a bit like barley when cooked. Higher fiber and protein with a bit of a nutty flavor and chewier texture. I really like it!

Nice that you are having sunny days. We had sun today but it was 32 degrees this morning when the dogs needed to go out! No water aerobics!

Thanks for the farro suggestion. I will get some at the hippie grocery which I am sure will have it along with other stuff I have not heard of. ds

Happy gto hear there was no new dental trauma. I totally commiserate with the anxious feelings. Feels good when it's done.

Thankfully FORMER national sickness poster-child of the world is (fingers crossed) on the road to wellville, and took my first walkabout since the day or so after Christmas. Congratulations CC on success in evicting x-mas decorations for the season. Every single one of mine is still a glittering display of ho-ho holiday embarrassment. You are a rock star!

No weight since whenever...I too have been self medicating. Mistaking Twinkies for something healthy or, worse yet, as oversized capsules filled with fluffy white medicine....Self deception has always been a problem... No! No! I confess; I knew it all along....Tomorrow morning I'll face the music, record the number and move on Today, it's back to the good for you foods. For all still caught up in what ever this seemingly endless crud is, all sympathy and get well soon juju to you.

Devon, I have yet to figure out why, after my PS, I have one very dark hair just at the front of each ear that intermittently turns up. My best guess is that these are not facial but rather head hairs. Weird thing is that they are the color, texture and thickness of the hair I had in my younger years and that say, after I remove it, they don't regularly grow out. Most times it is weeks and weeks before one or the other will begin showing. Hypotheses- Surgical procedure (needle maybe) morphing two regular nonproductive facial follicles into head hair follicles. (Sorry about the hashed subject /verb/tense debacle in above paragraph)

If yours are indeed beard hair (makes sense to me ) instead of shaving (daily?) maybe look into a depilatory cream or even small waxing strips. Process takes the whole hair down below the skin and lasts for a very long time depending.

Be well, rested , hydrated and happy. DD self care today and however long as you wish. God speed grace and blessings your way. Enjoy all every sunny Florida and California sunshine that comes your way . Liz, that goes for extended long and lovely boat rides. Oh, and CC, not to worry about extra long cars...my SEKansas observation regarding oversized high end Tyrannosaurus trucks is

they take however many spaces they need/and or/want. Problem solved..

Live large !!!

Liz, your cruise looks wonderful. Glad one of us could suntan today! I looked up Alaska cruises on the liner you are on. Pricey but they look very nice! I think we will forego plane travel (at least together****il the dogs are gone now that we don't have kids to house/dog sit. I really should inquire about a local person just in case we do need to both travel!

Weight 120.2 for 2 days in a row, despite the Swiss rolls and Nutty Bars!

Very cold this morning. I needed to cover up my herb garden with a towel last night. It worked! Sunny and low 60's by the afternoon.

I filled out passport paperwork today and took our pictures. I'll need to go to a center to get mine since I have never had one. DH can mail his in!

Sausage mushroom soup on a cold FL day. Tasted wonderful!

You may both want to use those passports sooner than you think. If you were traveling together (say on a TT cruise as Diane suggested) would any of your children come to pet sit if you flew them down to Florida. I would have jumped at the chance in my 20s.

That's an idea I had not thought of. Perhaps my middle child would take me up on that offer!

It was Diane's cruise suggestion that finally lit the fire under my arse to do the passport paperwork. Now to schedule my in person appointment!
