120.8 - down 1, and almost the same as Paula LOL.

Another cool day yesterday but tolerable out of the wind. We did a long Justice walk, then went out to eat at Happy Hour at a new place just outside of Key West (Stock Island). Drinks were reasonably priced and good but the food was meh. Tasted good but tiny portions of fish. We stopped on the way back at the restaurant we had gone to the prior night for one more drink and to share the bread pudding we all loved from the prior night. We ended up on the outside of the bar but with heaters it was quite comfortable. Turned out it was a good thing to be outside because a customer there with his family had a sudden heart attack and died. The EMTs arrived quickly but couldn't revive him. After they took the body away I had to walk through that part of the restaurant to use the restroom and everyone in the room was just sitting in shock. Can't imagine how traumatic it was for the poor family.

Today we are supposed to get another 5 degrees higher. If the wind isn't too brisk it might actually be pleasant. The plan is to go to Key West in mid-day to poke around and have a good sized lunch which will serve as our main meal. Dinnertime back at the cottage will be more like lunch.

Have a temperate Tuesday!

Now, Liz, we are not in a competition with each other! Lol! I remember way back when you, me, Shel and Ann all hovered around the same range! I?m sure you will be back down below me in no time! Today I was 120 even, my swings lately have not seemed so big. Seems like I have stayed within a pound range for a while!

Still cold here today with freeze warnings this morning. Temps will increase all day, I?ll be able to uncover my herb garden and may even be able to go to water aerobics tomorrow morning.

Awaiting a call from the golf cart place GM to see what they might do to replace our golf cart. We have not been using it at all, too cold anyway.

Today we have to have a pool light replaced in the spa! Super expensive for a dang lightbulb and labor (just under $1,000). We think someone before us broke a glass in the spa, so we will use the opportunity to try and vacuum up whatever we can. We have a strict rule of no glass by the pool and spa!

Plan to do some more pictures today (probably make cards). I?m waiting on some paint to distress some frames I have. If they turn out I may shop thrift stores for frames to use instead of buying new!

I didn?t make the red curry soup yet, so that will be tonight?s project! A very nice Hmong woman and fellow photographer gifted me with some a few years ago and then shared her recipe with me! Yum! I didn?t hit an Asian grocery here yet, so will have to improvise a few ingredients (like not adding quail eggs - they come canned in the Asian store and are pretty good!)

Good luck on the golf cart. I hope the GM makes it right without a lot of grief!

I think the red curry would be beyond my cooking skills.

Productive day yesterday! I put my new power washer together and cleaned the front walkway. I don't think any of that gunk would have come up even with a stiff scrub brush. Dirt and mold I think that grew under the dropped, fermented sage flowers. All clean! Then I washed and wiped down the outdoor kitchen (it's closed in on 3 sides plus the roof, so wind blows in there and takes masses of red dust with it with no exit. Ick. It also sticks to the windows so I broke out the window bot and cleaned 9 windows. Looks so much better. One of my friends sent me a video yesterday of her using hers to do her windows. I should get a commission!

I also used the leaf blower to get the dust out of the cat patio. I think I could have made a sand castle! Lots to do to clean out in there. There is still dust on everything. I ordered a patio storage box for the roof that I need to put together for the roof deck. Then I can move all the cushions for the roof furniture out of the cat patio and up there. Chipping away at my organizational problems.

Today I'm having a belated birthday lunch with my friend Cathy. She was in Antartica for most of January. Can't wait to hear about her trip.

That's it from me! Take care everyone.

Oh my goodness girl! You were a whirlwind of cleaning energy! I bet there is a lot of satisfaction in getting all of that done.

You should get a commission for marketing the window bot. Made most of us on here want one!

Cool about your friend going to Antarctica. Brrrrrr'

Super productive cleaning day! Do you start to get OCD sometimes with the power washer (I do)? I see how good one area looks and keep on going past where I planned or going back over what I did until it looks perfect. Used to take me a day to power wash my deck but I could hire someone who would do it in 1/3 the time. Of course my job was more thorough LOL.

Greetings all

Still sunny here. Like really sunny. The drive past the bay to go to Scrabble was lovely as the new overpass gives a great bay view. It looked very calm. So scrabble was fun. I beat the Shark and won one other. Our hostess is gimping around using a walker and will have pt later. They ruled out all the really bad stuff but still not sure what happened. I think I convinced her to spend some money and get her bathroom remodeled to have a handicap accessible shower. I am grateful we did ours a few years ago as I am not sure I could safely get in and out of a traditional tub shower. After that I stopped at the studio for a bit but got hungry and came home. I plan on making grilled roast beef sandwhiches tonight.

Paula the red curry soup sounds good. The local hippie dippy grocery often has fresh quail eggs. I am not sure why one would want those but they are cute and spotted. Once someone gave me a couple of goose eggs and I made deviled eggs from then and they were giant!! Did not taste good. Anyway I am sure the red curry will be excellent. Hope the golf cart issues are resolved satisfactorily.

CC what a whirlwind of stuff to get done! I never realized how dusty AZ is but it makes sense as there are not lawns like the midwest. Does Kirby watch the window washer?

Well Liz not exactly a great dining experience for you with the EMTs at the restaurant. Hope the rest of your stay is less eventful. Key West. How fun.

Not much else. I need to stop at the pharmacy but can wait a day. Thursday I have to go to the dentist and get the new crown installed (channeling DD on worrying about the dentist) even though this one is good. The last crown she did came from the lab and did not fit right so had to be redone. Hoping that does NOT happen.

Our back yard is full of robins. It is 60 degrees so I guess that qualifies as spring.

Good idea for gimpy friend to consider modifying her bathroom. We have a walk in shower, a soaker tub and a tub/shower combo in the guest bathroom so all options are covered except for a walk in bathtub. I always thought that the user would get cold as the water drained so they could get out!

One of my best friends in WI posted pics of Robins in her yard right now! It certainly isn't 60 in WI and not close to being Spring. Now sure what those robins are thinking!

Thankfully at our elevation we don't get the haboobs they get down in the Phoenix valley but there's still enough dirt around here to pick up and blow around with a good wind!

Congratulations on beating the Shark! Always a good day when that occurs.

Good idea for anyone reaching our age bracket to have a handicap accessible shower. We never know when it might be needed. I feel nervous when we have guests our age and they have to use the tub/shower in the guest bathroom.

I miss robins! Supposedly they come to Florida in the winter but I have never noticed any where we are.
