120.6 - unchanged
Yesterday it was finally warm enough to wear summer clothing and no sweater/jacket! We found a 4 mile walk off the highway and saw 2 different key deer (pictures on FB). We went to one of our favorite tiki places for a big lunch, then stopped at another place on the same key (Marathon) for drinks and music. Great band! Dinner at home was more of a snack. Seems to be our trend the last few days.
We have also had a trend in movies: the last 3 were Saturday Night Fever, Grease, and Dirty Dancing. Coming up soon: Footloose. Funny how some of the old movies are different than we remembered especially Saturday Night Fever. It ultimately is a rather depressing movie telling the story of people with no future, a suicide, a rape, and a woman being kept as a mistress. All we remembered was that it had good dancing.
Today should be warmer but also potentially rainy this afternoon. At least we should be able to sit out on the screened deck. Justice can give his stink-eye to the dog across the canal from there LOL.
Have a thriving Thursday!

Apparently I've entered another productive phase! I should plot it against the star charts to find a pattern
. I washed both of my cars yesterday myself. Including vacuuming dog hair out. They look really nice. I was going to go to the car wash, but when I drove by, there were several already waiting and this car wash is not like the ones in CA where you get a spotless car in 15 minutes for $30. This is 4 hours for the same level of clean for $70. So I went home and did it myself. Then I ran the window cleaner on a few more sliders with dog snot. It does a nice job with that. I ran out of oomph to put the box together, but I will do that next.
Josue the tile guy is coming today to give me a quote to seal the flagstone patios. It really needs to happen every year, but I didn't do it last year. I also need him to put some spongy filler in a gap that was exposed when the cat patio screen was replaced. It no longer has a bottom track and that was covering the crack.
I also pondered outdoor lighting last night. I agreed to have one of the plein air painting festival events at my house in October (eek). Which runs until after dark, which makes me think about how dark it is in my backyard and I don't need people tripping back there...
Kirby needs a walk today. So I'll do that and work on the box and whatever else unfolds...
Take care!
Outdoor lighting would look pretty too...

I agree. There are a lot of fixtures out there, but it's a big space and it's like drops in the ocean with no delineation of the edges of the hardscape and nothing lighting the pergola area that has 4 lounge chairs.
I also noticed the spa light is burnt out (Paula jinxed me!) so need to have that fixed as the pool lights on should help keep people from falling in there.
Yep, it would be good not to have to fish anyone out of the pool LOL.

120.6, twinning with Liz today!
Rainy day with a cold front moving in and temps dropping throughout the day. Tomorrow will be chilly too but shouldn't affect me too much as I am getting that infected tooth extracted finally! Doubt I will be doing much after that!
Today has been busy so far. I had my phone in Bible study with my WI peeps, a contractor is here putting up framing around our master and guest bathroom mirrors and the termite guy came to give us an estimate. Still have not worked on my photo cards but did put together a 4 piece hanging frame set of 4X6 pics of flamingos. Feeling nappy but contractor guy is still working. He is also going to hang a metal grate storage shelf that hangs down from the garage ceiling today. His next project will be to hang kayak racks and racks to hang the beach chairs but we needed to order the racks online as Home Depot didn't have any in stock!
Not sure what to make for dinner. Feeling a bit unmotivated right now. Thought about grilling fish but it is too cold. I guess it will be left over red curry Thai soup or go out to eat! Saving the soup for tomorrow when I need to eat soft foods might be wise. Hmmmm, where should DH take me out to tonight?
Liz, the way you describe eating is very common in Brazil, and a lot of South American countries. The big meal is during the day, and dinner is often more simple, like soup and fish.
CC, you are getting it done girl. Do you think making your meal plans and feeling on track with that task helps "fuel" both physically and mentally?
Paula I'm glad you can finally have that infected tooth removed.I had to get an implant after having a tooth pulled. I always worry when I'm getting a crown or something like that I will notice it for a long time. The implant was seamless.
Diane I read a few days ago you neat the shark, correct? Yee haw!
Did I miss something where Peps was going to be away for a bit?
We're having a great time at the beach. It's been a couple of years since I spent time hanging out in the sand. I having to relearn sand management. Yesterday we had an extra chair for our bag, but today I had to set it in the sand.
While we were at the beach, a teenager heard us speaking English and wanted to practice speaking with us, and wanted my number for Whar's App etc. When DH and I were walking on the beach later, he said, How did you attract a Brazilian boy on the autism spectrum? You're a magnet. At the same time my principal texted me asking if I'd like to do a long term sub job for a month in Special Education. Hmmm. It starts right after I get home, so definitely not, and probably not under any cir****tances, but the money is tempting, not gonna lie. Not tempting enough yet though.
We had one travel snafu so far. BFF went to stay at our house (she spends half the week there, half with her son) and found it 46 degrees!!! Ahhh the snowbird's nightmare. Luckily it was not the furnace, but merely low batteries in the thermostat. DH's brother was dispatched immediately, and he changes the batteries, ran every faucet and flushed every toilet. No damage. Whew. More lessons learned. Next time we're away during the winter, we will just change the batteries whether we need it or not.
Stlll can't believe we are here. The people, the food, the weather, the scenery, all so delightful.
