100%! It is a bit of a chicken and the egg thing, isn't it? Eating right and meal planning getting that side of your "house" in order makes organizing and life tasks easier. And being cluttered with tasks hanging over you makes life stressful which makes eating well so much harder. Carrying with the house analogy, when one wall crumbles, so do the others. Feeling like you're on a roll in one area makes getting on track elsewhere easier. And the reverse is equally true. That overall feeling of, "I can do this" is internally contagious, as is, "I'm failing and I don't know how to make myself fix this".

I had a WW leader who said that the first thing she did when her eating got out of control is clean her car inside and out, then organize her kitchen. Usually that would help her get back on track. I'm am rather compulsive about clutter, but I can see where your getting things done can work in a similar way.

I just mentioned thus to DH and he agreed completely. Interesting to consciously think about it.

DH's home up north is too old to put a WiFi thermostat in (another way to remotely monitor heat or AC). So I have a WiFi camera there pointing to a thermometer. But in October, the kids were there and unplugged it forgetting to plug it back in when they left. So we will have no idea if the furnace fails. With the extreme cold up there if it does fail that will mean frozen pipes, followed by water in the basement where lots of stuff is stored.

Loving your stories and pictures of Brazil. Keep on enjoying it. I personally chose not to do temp work for my former employer after I left when they offered it even though the money was good. I was enjoying the lack of pressure to get to work and be on a schedule too much. And the luxury of a slow morning! I decided if I was managing monetarily without working, I wasn't going to,

202.8 UGH!!!! Absolutely no rhyme or reason that I can see for this rise in weight. It is beginning to irritate the #$%@ out of me!

I am seriously thinking that as much as I don't want to, I'm going to have to "diet" in a much more traditional sense. I really don't want to do that, which is the problem. Maybe I should just be "fine" at this weight. It's hard for me to be satisfied here, though. I know the emotional component is what is driving this feeling of needing to be at a lower weight. I'm just not ready to accept a range of 200 = or - a few pounds.

Had my 4 week post op check. Everything is going well and surgeon is very pleased. I have one little lump of skin that may need trimming when all is said and done, but that can be done in office. It's on my neck on the hairline and nothing that hurts or is bothersome. Just a bit of extra skin that may not lie flat when completely healed. I think Liz said she had a little revision done there, too.

I was 13 when Saturday Night Fever was released. I saw it at some point when I was a little older (maybe on TV???) and remember thinking that scene with Donna Pescow in the backseat of the car was really off. But, being a teen of the time, I LOVED the disco music! Still do! And well, Grease... I'm a musical theater kid, so yeah... One of the best movies of my teenage years! That and Breakfast Club!

We are having our normal February spring. The early blossoms are in full bloom - Almond, ornamental pear, wild plums. Soon the cherry trees will bloom, too. Whenever we have this type of warmth in early February, we have another cold snap near the end of the month or in March. I'm not breaking out the swim trunks yet! LOL

Sorry to hear Florida is going to get cold again. Booooo!

So glad your surgeon gave you high marks for healing! Are you freed up to lift yet or do you have more time to go?

I started to write about the diet thing and then my iPad battery died which was the universe saying, STOP! Not a single one of us needs any advice about weight or weight loss. We could all write a PhD level thesis about the subject, our bodies, and weight-related thought processes. So I will simply say:

A) you're amazing for maintaining your weight loss for this long even if the scale stopping bugs you. I have never done that and bow down to you!

B) however you approach your next steps you are well guided by experts: your Nut, your trainer and a lifetime of residing in Devon's body and brain.

C) you look awesome, so if you choose to make changes do it knowing you're already winning!

We are hoping this cold spell will be shorter than the prior ones.

And yes, I ultimately had to have a revision done behind my ears. Not a big deal and all healed nice and flat afterwards.

Greetings all

Sunny here. The inevitable rain storm will come in just in time for the Super Bowl. No big deal unless we get a power outage. However the ever prepared DH will get one of his big batteries to run the tv.

Today I had to go to the dentist to get this crown seated. We learned recently that this dentist is retiring. Rats, just when I had a dentist I trust. But her son in law is a dentist and is taking over the practice so at least we are not without an option. Dentist and I had a nice talk about taking retirement early. She is only 55 but I told her she should go for it and will feel like a kid skipping school every day for a year. After that I did the studio where the power is out. Place was pretty empty because the electric potters wheels don't work. I have a sunny room and need no power so I got some stuff done. After that, because I could come up with absolutely no excuses, I went to the gym.

We had a nice dinner last night at the restaurant with the sunsets. Plus a ton to bring home for tonight. I had crab fondu which was ok. Nice to get out.

DD your trip sounds so fun. You are doing it right. Keep it up.

Paula I will think of you at the dentist. DH had one pulled a couple of years ago and it was quick and a big nothing.

Well Liz Justice can continue his stare down with that other dog. Stink eye indeed. Yes there is a trend in movies there. big lunch and lite dinner is kind of a good idea.

Peps glad you are well healed. Gym yet? Being off of that for a bit makes a difference.
