Well Paula you had better look at that contract pretty closely. In a consignment situation you always own your stuff until they sell it as your agent and therefore you have control of all pricing. Our gallery is totally consignment. Customers sometimes ask for discounts and we tell them that each artist sets prices and we have no authority to discount. The only discount we have is if one member or their family buys the art of another member. A 20% discount is given which is effectively the gallery forgoing its 20% commission and the artist gets her usual 80%. So look at the contract carefully. If this store wants to forgo its own commission then that is fine but it does not look like the numbers work. At a minimum the contract should limit how often they do this. If it is more than a couple of days a year I would say pass. It is amazing how often people want to bargain over a piece of art. Nobody does that at the hardware store or most other retail. Diane S
200.1 which is down a pound + from last Friday (sort of my "official" weight day). Liz, you were right - NUT was pleased, but mostly because I didn't "diet" or restrict to lose a little more weight.
Subbing was fun. The technological aspect at the first school was a cluster F or epic proportions. I won't bore you with all the details, but the debacle included having to use 4 different laptops (2 windows, 2 apples), wifi crashing, etc... A normal sub would have been at his wit's end. But I still had a good time with the kids and we did MUSIC! The second school was great. Everything went as smoothly as soft butter spreads! A lot of people commented on how much weight I'd lost and how refreshed and relaxed I appeared. I kept my mouth shut about the facelift. Had anybody asked outright, I would have come clean, but no one did, so who am I to blab?!?!?! Hehehehehe.... The office manager at the second school did not recognize me. She said, "May I help you?". I said back, "Oh dear God, I haven't been gone that long!" She got up and exploded about how good I looked and I have lost 20 years of stress age.... wink, wink...
Subbing did trigger eating behaviors. Very interesting to take note how I wanted candy just because it was there (office manager's counter - she supplies chocolate to the stressed...), and how things in the staff rooms called to me that wouldn't ordinarily- specifically pretzels and Froot Loops! So, Diamond D., it was okay and there was no shell shock. What I noticed right away is that I went straight into teacher mode as if I had never even stepped away. I even surprised myself how engrained my teacher persona truly is. I also learned today that a group of 4 years olds can be quite enjoyable. Get this, most of the kids I taught today had not even been born when Covid hit! YIKES!
Nap time for this old Geezer!
A successful subbing experience! Nice! As long as it enhances your life why not?
No one ever guessed that I had a facelift. They all just said I look more rested or happier or like I had lost more weight. Thats the goal of a good facelift I think: you look like yourself only better.
