How odd that Liz has not yet posted. Hope that means she's having fun in Mass. and not that something is amiss with her DD.
209.7 - up a pound from yesterday, but still under 210, so I'm good.
Gotta run to class, but will post more in a bit.
Add on: Good workout yesterday, but my workout partner was super chatty so we started 30 minutes late. And then she was super chatty during our session so it dragged out. So, in turn, dinner was late. I think those two factors caused the uptick, but I'm still so stoked (ugh, that phrase shows my age!) to be under 210 on a weigh in Friday!
Yesterday I felt true excitement and joy about retirement. The trainer/workout partner brought it up because she is saddened by her husband's attitude toward retirement. (They have been separated for 20 years, but are still very close.) She pointed out the difference between him and me and how we are going into retirement with such different attitudes and physicalities. I am so lucky to have my health and am retiring at a young enough age that I have plenty of life to enjoy. My body is strong and I don't feel the need to slow down or "take it easy". I am feeling like I will have so much more time to do the things I WANT to do, rather than the things I HAVE to do.
Really looking forward to Spring Break. Staying at home and getting some things done around the house will feel great!
Fun Friday!
Excellent news! How exciting to have a new little one in your family!

I didn't realize that candle lit concerts were a widespread thing, though I have noticed them advertised in our area.
What a busy yet fun weekend coming up! I hope DS3 will get the help needed.

I like to have "meals" even if small for lunch and dinner, though not breakfast. My lunch meal is somewhat snack sized, but I try to focus on protein such as having a hard-boiled egg and cottage cheese. It definitely keeps me from needing much in terms of a real snack during the afternoon.

The rule of thumb for women once weight is lower is 10 pounds per size. Don't know if that applies to men. You are doing well keeping the weight down. Sounds like most of the time you can avoid the school snacks and soon they won't be an issue anymore.

When I went on the meds my NUT was insistent that I eat MEALS and not graze/snack my calories. She said that the first thing that goes out the window on the meds for most people is protein. She added that if you graze you are even more likely to reduce your protein intake even more. So, I had to pick my two non-negotiable "meals". I chose lunch and dinner. I don't much need, nor care for breakfast most of the time, so that was an easy meal to use as the snack. Most days my breakfast is a Quest Bar and a hardboiled egg sometime around 10 am. Lunch is usually a protein, a small carb and a fruit. Dinner is more protein, a very small amount of carb (usually 1/4 cup or less) and vegetable.
I think the balanced meals and the act of sitting and eating with people (staff and Ron) is both physically and emotionally fulfilling!
I discovered I was slipping up because of the snacks. I had to go back to really checking in with myself about hunger vs. thirst, boredom, transitions, anxiety, depression, celebratory feelings, etc... The other thing that is really helping me right now is asking if XX really supports my long term goals (which right now is to be below 200).
Well done, Mom and Dad....!
