I don't get it! They test my dad for flipping EVERYTHING the minute he walks in the hospital. First thing they do is get his blood and ask for a urine sample. FFS! Makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Good lord, it's not even a complicated or expensive test! I bet your Dad does feel discouraged in the moment when he keeps dealing with this. But as you said, it's not going to get you today! Your Dad vs 100 million stents and he's still standing!!

Sorry about another clogged stent for your Dad. And grrrrrr on not doing a urinalysis to test for infection. How hard is that to do? I know sometimes my Mom's doctors are hesitant to test for a UTI as well. Never made sense to me!

Today was supposed to be a trip to Traverse City with my dad mostly for a dermatology follow up for him, but adding on Costco and lunch. Instead his stent clogged again and I took him to the hospital. They swapped it out fairly quickly for a hospital, and he was able to come home. But the interventional radiology department just deals with the stents, so he wasn't tested for a UTI, so no idea what caused the clog only 3 weeks after the last one. I called his regular doctor and asked if he could come in just for a precautionary urine culture in case it was an infection and the doctor was adamant he didn't think it was (asshole, pardon my french), so no he couldn't have a test. Imagine saying that to a patient with a history of sepsis! When has he ever had a clog that wasn't infection related? So I said to my dad, should we call your urologist and try to get a sample taken there while we're over an hour from home? Stubborn mule said, his office is too chaotic, they can't do it. Why not just ask rather than assume while we're all the way up here??? Argh!!! Stubborn men. So no one tested anything. If he has to go back up there because it clogs yet again, it'll be a massive "I told you so" I will need to bite back. He's also being really depressed about this talking about how angry he is, how one of these days, one of these will kill him. I said, maybe but not today and tried to stay positive. I get it, but positivity has gotten him a long way with his issues, he can't give up now. But I understand the urge to wallow.

Anyway, that was my day. Hope yours were better!

122.5, down again!

Busy day today. Helped out in the church's garden for a few hours then came home and made Greek turkey meatballs and homemade tzatziki sauce for them. Then DH and I took our walk. Still need to shower and do some grocery shopping!

I'll share the meatball recipe if it is as good as it looks! Trying another new recipe tomorrow as well! Got to shake it up every once in a while! I save recipes that I see online to my phone and then forget about them, so I perused them the other day and decided on 4 new ones for this week!

Tomorrow I will lead Bible study, may do lunch with the ladies afterwards since DH is lunching with a friend. Then it will be time to clean for a BBQ we are hosting at our house on Friday night!

Peps, I agree with Diane, if you are comfortable where you are at weight wise, just keep on doing what you are doing! You look awesome and very fit! Who cares about those darn BMI charts anyway!

Diane S, enjoy your walk and pizza!

Liz, enjoy the last leg of your trip! You will be home to Justice soon!

The weight loss is more of an emotional and personal thing. I am 5'7" and the idea of weighing 200 pounds at that height doesn't sit well - especially since I spent so much time hung up on the fact that the nigh normal BMI for my height is 159 pounds. I have a photo of me at 188 which I think is a really good weight for me. I had gained 18 pounds from my VSG goal weight and was "unhappy" about that, but realistically, it was an ideal weight for me.

Greetings all

It is overcast and downright cold here today. I had to get up early as house cleaner needed to start earlier today due to other commitments. Fine by me. Earlier start for me for coffee and net surfing.

So the dentist was fine yesterday. Got it all done and no ill effects. I have decided this dentist is a good one and am grateful as there are many dentists here who are not taking new people. I still need more work done - not sure why I need so much other than I have heard my former dentist - *****tired suddenly - was getting senile. I did not think that but recall that my last crown took two hours and I did not know why. Oh well, another adventure in aging is dental stuff.

Liz you really have had an adventure! I know you will make the most of it and be glad to get home. Yeah the pack/unpack routine would be tiring. Hope you can stay put when you get home. For a bit.

Squirrel attack DD!! Yikes! Sounds like time for duct tape. I once had a squirrel get inside my house. It chewed phone wires. I came home and found a bagel at the bottom of the basement stairs and stuff dumped over and fur on the fly traps. Caught it in a humane trap and took it miles away to a lake. Hope your squirrel stops and finds something better to eat. And thinking of your BFF and son. Glad that this is being taken seriously and treated. Needs to be addressed in every way possible.

Peps, you look great and do not need to lose any more weight. Having seen you recently I would have guessed your weight as much lower and believe that you are muscle, not fat. So that is my two cents.

I gotta hit the gym today as I have skipped a few. No excuses available. Pizza again tonight, Then back to the great dinner unknown.

Diane S

201.5 - same old, same old...

Today is another kinda sorta busy-ish day. My choice, so it's all good, right? LOL...

The AC repair guy is here with the new motor. He'll install it and do a deep cleaning of the AC unit. Fingers crossed it's a long term fix. I really don't want to put a new HVAC system in the house. It's not on my to do list! I want a new roof first.

Weight loss seems harder these days. I'm not exactly sure why, but it is slow going and due to personal choices. I'm on the max dose of tirzepatide so there is no upping the dose. I really do want to lose that last 13 pounds, but I have to admit my motivation to be "good" is pretty low. I have found a really comfortable groove of eating - no dieting, no counting calories, protein centered meals, daily indulgences. It feels like a very natural way to eat. But I'm afraid it's going to keep me right around the 200 mark. So, I guess I have some thinking to do and decisions to make.

Diamond D, you are right about the cruise - great to have the hotel room follow you and those wonderful meals without the hassle of having to pick a place to go, but definitely not enough time to explore each port with any depth. That was my only "complaint" about our recent cruise. I would love to go back and stay a while in Salzburg and Vienna and take a few days in Munich. Those three cities in 10 days would be a great trip!

Time to get productive! Ciao!
