So beautiful! I can see why you hate cutting it back but it is worth it to have it bloom again next year!

I'm not surprised you are dropping weight in the midst of all this work getting ready to move. I assume the inspection turned out well?
No, I don't have to do any massage, so no discomfort other than the injections which weren't bad at all. It is supposed to take up to 2 weeks to get its final form which is when they want to see me in case they need to add a bit. Better to go a little less than more of what is needed. Maybe the fillers are made out of different stuff these days?

Hugs to you, DD. Doing the right thing is often not easy or comfortable. Keeping your mom's secrets would mean her not getting the help she so desperately needs. You did good!
Haha, ABAH. I now have a name for a rule I always follow. Air conditioning is a blessing and a curse. Even in the summer, I never go to the movies, or out to dinner, theater or a concert without a hoodie, cardigan or wrap.
Congrats on making it through yesterday DD and doing so with some real progress. Gotta love the social worker for being the "heavy" and spelling it out. Don't feel bad for ratting out your parents because it is 1. truth and 2. for their own good. It is so good that there is a social safety net that sounds pretty functional. You are indeed good for doing the right thing even though it was not easy. And good you have brother and SIL for support. Enjoy the heck out of aussie sister and these great fall days. You deserve it.
Here in Humboldt county the rule is "ABAH". Always bring a hoodie.
Shepard's pie. Ultimate comfort food. Enjoy.

Yes this shrub will get thicker and flower more after being cut back. I think that is why ours is so thick - being cut back each Halloween. Others around town are sort of spindly. This plant comes from Brazil and won't take frost. It blooms several times per year. Our front yard is now full of plant parts. Trimming was all I can do today. Our walk looks like it rained purple rain....
Oh DD! All the feels! What you are doing is another right thing to do, family secrets and all. Hope the hangover doesn?t last long. I?m glad you get your sister as a backup soon and can tackle this together. Such tough decisions! Reminds me of when we needed to tell on Dad to get his driver?s license taken away. It actually went much smoother than we imagined. Praying for some smoothness in your parents transitions too!
That is so gorgeous! Will chopping it back make it flower even more? Is it like Lilacs, where chopping back gets better blooms, but it might not be for a couple of years, or will it flower again next year? Is it year round flowers, or seasonal?
It's good for the kids to come over and see the house emptying out. They're going to be fine. And soon you won't have to wonder how cold is it out there really? I really admire your steadfast determination to make your vision of retirement come true. It's going to be wonderful!
