Greetings all
Sunny but super windy here. Power flickers plus power is out in Trinidad where the gallery is. I took some stuff up there and you could hardly walk down the street it was so windy. White caps on the bay. Good day to stay home. I did go to the studio to get new stuff and I did some glazing. Work work work. I need to get ahead!
Liz I say the balance scale is the correct one. Are they not more accurate? I had no idea there were high rises there but I guess every tourist island has them.
Quiche again tonight and then it is done. I will have to find some other way to not cook. Maybe visit the taco truck where I saw horse****ched to the fence the other day. That is so Humboldt - ride your horse to the taco truck or - as has been reported - through the Starbuck's drive through.
Skipped out on gym today. Gotta do tomorrow. DH is taking the Nissan to the dealer for an electronics issue on the map downloads. They are having a technician come in from out of town for this so DH will have a total nerd fest. Personally I would have ignored the whole thing. Who cares. But it is his car.
Well Peps, let us know when the giddiness becomes a generalized euphoria. When is your trip?
DD sounds like your send offs are fun. Enjoy. Then don't look back. Nice that the kid gave you a home made card. That means a lot.
We watched the last of the Residence last night. Pretty good.
CC I hope you are feeling better. Rest up (like Kirby will permit that).
Not much else. Diane S
My weight is a bit above my normal range, boo! Probably the last few weeks have been more vacation type eating with all the celebrations. The weather is insisting still to be unkind. It is 91 right now, but tomorrow's forecast is still stubbornly insisting it will be 64 and raining. Wednesday's is 76 and sunny! It's a warm weather sandwich. Looks like an indoor party. It will still be fun.
No bunnies chewing my bedding plants! They look healthy, and are going to really go to town in this heat.
A sentimental day at work. It was last day of classes for the seniors and many kids stopped by to say goodbye. One kiddo brought me a handmade card, which is a very special gift to receive from a 17 year old boy. I feel lucky at these moments to have been a part of their lives.
I have posted them from Florida in the past... I have been to contests in Fort Myers beach and Siesta Key beach.

200.6... closer by a tenth.... LOL
Crazy me is fully booked today. 2 Airedales to groom, an optometry appointment for my final post op check and new prescription, a zoom meeting for the national dog club health committee, and a training session at 5. What was I thinking? It's the extra dog I squeezed in for my brother that is throwing everything just a little off.
Today feels like the first day of summer break, not retirement. I was pretty sure that would happen. I've so many summer breaks in my history, it's not surprising I feel this way. I suppose the real sense of retirement will hit in August when I'm on the road instead of going back to school!
Well, must get on my broomstick and get productive!
Liz, thanks for the clarification on the sand sculpture. I swear though, that once someone on here posted a bunch of photos of a sand sculpture contest. I thought it was you. Maybe Diane S.????
Good to know! We will have to look into a trip there? Our good friends go to Jamaica every year but I've also heard horror stories about crime there. They stay safe by staying at a Sandals resort but it still gives me pause!
Weight either 118 or 120. The balance scale in the gym said 118, but the floor pressure scale said 120. LOL!
Nice day yesterday involving 2 long walks, food shopping, happy hour at a nearby resort and dinner at a favorite place where you can order small or large portions of meals.
Today will be more or less a repeat though we are driving a longer way to the high rise area for dinner (we stay in the low rise) to go to an Italian restaurant with a beautiful view.
ETA: I meant to mention to Peps that the sand sculptures here are done by a friend who used to compete doing them but here he just does them for fun every 2-3 days. He and his wife arrive this Thursday. I am guessing his first will be Saturday as a welcome to their daughter and her family who arrive that day.
Have a munificent Monday!

Isn't it weird to worry about dropping too low in weight?
Very little crime in Aruba. It is safe to walk around pretty much anywhere day or night. They are still horrified at the press they received when Natalie Holloway was killed here in 2005 - though she was killed by another tourist after being at a bar alone. Probably one of the safest places in the world to visit. The only other place that we have traveled to that felt as safe was in French Polynesia. When we rented a scooter they told us to just leave it in the yard when we were done if they weren't there when we got back. We asked about locking it and they said not to bother. They pointed out that if someone were to steal it, they would know who it was pretty quickly LOL (very small population where everyone knows one another).

Isn't it funny how once you have been retired for a few years you can't even imagine how you ever went to work 5 days a week?
