Fish, ha! I hadn't heard that one before.
The roof repairs have begun. As they remove the Trex decking to recoat the roof, they found the joists were just nailed right into the stucco with no flashing, causing water intrusion points. So even if the deck portion of this project was not leaking yet, it would at some point. Expensive repair, but it will be redone correctly. They are going to just float the joists over the roof and not attach them to the wall, just to each other, and screw the Trex to the joists. Like a big raft. They haven't begun fixing the leaky stucco ledge yet. A multi-day project.
I've been going through my little piles in pursuit of Operation No Visible Clutter. I have little piles everywhere of things that need a home or I need to look at or save, but never do. If everything had a home, it would be easier to keep clean and tidy. I'm almost through my stack of magazines I haven't read.
I also figured out how to increase the temp on my electric water heater and had a really hot shower for the first time ever here! On a gas water heater, you just turn the red knob on the front. Easy. This one required turning off the power. Unscrewing panels behind other panels, removing insulation and using a screwdriver on a knob. Easy when you know what to do, but not idiot proof like the red knob.
Today I'm having lunch with friends and dropping my car off for a good cleaning on the way. I miss California carwashes so much! Where you drive in and they hand wash the whole thing inside and out in 15 minutes for $25 plus tip. Here it's a $60 plus tip multi-hour affair where you have to leave it and go find something else to do in the meantime. I would do it myself, but getting Kirby fur out of black carpet is best left to their vacuums.
I hope everyone has a good day!

I have gained on 15mg. About 20 pounds from my lowest. But I fear how much I would gain if I stopped.
118.2 - probably up due to the wonderful lamb chops I had last night. They were amazing!
The adult Halloween party at the clubhouse was a lot of fun and as mentioned, the food was great. Lots of dancing to oldies. Some of the costumes were over the top and we couldn't recognize who the people were. Funny how some people really get into dressing up.
It got cold here last night! It was 50, so the AC stayed off the entire 24 hours and will continue that way through today and tonight. The temperature is supposed to rebound to high 70's tomorrow, then 80 going forward but with much lower humidity than we have had and no showers. Fall in Florida has finally arrived! This is my favorite time of year here as the weather is beautiful but there aren't a million people around as there are in January to March. Paula will soon be experiencing that! So many fun things to do this time of year on her coast. It is a great time to go to popular museums since there aren't a lot of crowds. The Edison property is fantastic at Christmas with the houses decorated.
Today is a somewhat quiet day for me, thank goodness. DH is playing golf so I will walk alone with Justice and poke around somewhere. I want some new pillows for my living room couches so may go look for them. My golf yesterday was actually fairly solid for me. Very few flubs, and no "fish" (Fu_k It's Still Here). Fun group of ladies to play with (as is usual in this league).
Have a Horrifying Halloween!

I think the humidity in the air drops before the furnaces are needed. In Arizona where it was drier than anyplace I have ever been it was close to 0% humidity when we stayed there in February 2022. Even without heat on my skin and sinuses were dry as a bone (and I was thirsty all the time). When we were there a couple of weeks ago, it was still dry (15-20%), but not nearly as bad. My skin is used to 50-80% humidity and I still have to use a lot of moisturizer.

So you are living quite lean for the last 2 weeks! I started stripping my house of everything the day after my daughter's wedding, so I had 2 weeks to get it done. We started staying at DH's home once it got so empty we had nothing to sleep on. Will you have a place to stay the last couple of days or wait to load the PODS with the last stuff just before you hop in the car on the 12th?

I hope those B12 shots are helping Blitz!
Seems like a lot of people plateau at a place a bit heavier than they would like on the Glp-1 meds, though others get lower than expected (like Paula and BB). A woman I am friends with here is on the max dose of Zepbound and has stopped losing any weight. Too bad the medical profession doesn't know why the effects are so different for some people vs others.

We close on the 14th in WI but will sign the papers on the 7th, load PODs on the 11th and start heading to FL on the 12th!
You still have 2 more weeks until closing right?

Greetings all
Lazing about while my hair dries. Then it is off to pick up grocery items for tomorrow's party. I won't pick up the big deli tray until tomorrow at 3 but need a bunch of other things that I want to get handled today. It is overcast now but I am hoping we get sun tomorrow. Fall color is unusually good here this year - ordinarily it's just anaemic yellow - but something about moisture or temperature is making more color this year. I do miss the midwestern fall color. Just not the same here.
Good news - I think DH found my Dad's military service number on Ancestry. Looks like a roster of his navy CB unit with a likely looking number. So brother can quit bugging me about it.
Still lots of household chores to do. Too late for a bulldozer.
We binge watched all the the new season of The Diplomat. Great show.
Liz enjoy the halloween event and pumpkin couture. It is hard for me to imagine a Halloween in a place where kids don't come around. We have always had so many visitors. Early on the real little kids will come - before dark - then later they get taller. And yeah sometimes the same kids come more than once but who cares. Makes me think of the covid year when people were sending candies down cardboard chutes in our neighborhood in order to social distance. We put out a tray of candy on a tv tray outside the garage and refilled as needed.
Paula the countdown is on! Isn't it fun to kind of start over in a new house and pretend to be college kids furnishing new digs?
Peps nice that you can enjoy freedom from the school onslaught of sugar on Halloween. Good candy choices. Of we have extra I will take it to the studio or gallery. But I admit to purchasing some Lindt truffles as treats for the adults here.
Well I can tell that winter is on the way because my skin feels dry. Not sure if we have had the furnace run yet but somehow my skin knows.
Thinking of you DD and wishing peaceful transitions.

121.5. No Halloween candy for us but we have been on a Whoppers and Milk Dud kick lately! I tell DH not to pick them up but then he does! My willpower is pretty good at the grocery store, not so much at home!
Bible study with the ladies today. I sure am going to miss that group. I might attend via speaker phone for awhile but also plan to make spiritual roots in FL too!
More packing up of the few pieces of furniture we are taking with us! We used those moving blankets and then wrapped them in stretch wrap! Not too much more to pack! Being efficient has its drawbacks. I've needed a handful of items that are already packed away! Go figure!
Peps, I'm glad your Dad lives close enough that you can visit him frequently. I thought to myself after seeing Mom this week that in reality it could be the last time I see her! We will come back to WI for Christmas but not go to where she lives (3 hours away) and then probably won't be bac****il next summer! I keep hearing you say you are pretty content with how you look and feel at your current weight. Perhaps you are at goal after all. I think you look fabulous and we all know how strong you are!
Liz, I envy all the fun social activities you and DH are involved in! I'm hoping for the same in our new community! We will also need to try to plan a get together in FL at some point. I'm up for a whole group meet up in Sedona as well. Perhaps Spring?
