I didn't intend to be posting yet, but we've had a little adventure. At 7am their was an announcement that a fire had been reported in the building, and we must evacuate. As we came down the stairs from the 8th floor we could smell smoke, so not a false alarm. The restaurant's kitchen was on fire! So many fire trucks! The sweet hotel manager was standing with a clipboard, calling out people's names, Miss Amy, are you here? No,... Mr . Ryan? Then suddenly Miss Amy would yell I'm here! And so on. It was like an SNL skit. We're back in the room, deciding where to have breakfast, as it won't be at the hotel today.

121 - just about 1 pound above pre-vacation weight (and within my fluctuation weight). Apparently bathroom time yesterday helped.

Taxes are filed. I hate going through that every year and this year was especially complex due to the sale of 2 homes.

Due to DD and Diane S comments yesterday, I am going to put together a list of information on how to get into my accounts for my POA in case I am incapacitated and ask DH to do the same.

Muggy, warm weather here. Yesterday there was a threat of thunderstorms all day, but we went to the beach club for a while because it was sunny. We left at 2 because it looked like they were coming, but then it cleared and didn't rain until about 8 or 9 last night. We should have stayed though it did give us the time to do our financial meeting and finalize the taxes. We decided to cancel our boat club membership. We just aren't using it enough to justify the monthly cost.

We are going to get out to walk just before 7:30 because I have water aerobics at 9. It has been 3 weeks since I went last. Possibly Beach Club again after that.

Have a marvelous Monday!

Oh my goodness - poor Kirby!

Yes, you do live in a rough climate for anything needing water or shade. Beautiful but harsh.

Vivian and family have support nearby! How lucky they all are.

And yum to pot roast. I haven't made one in years. I think I like the vegetables cooked with them as much or more than the meat.

That makes sense: You do need a lot of it!

Our freezer keeps mostly frozen dog food. I buy it in bulk- usually 80-100 pounds at a time. Very little of it is human food. ?

Hi all! Sorry for being absent, just got a little burned out thinking about weight loss... still feeling itto be honest.

The weather has been really nice here. I've been planting. I forget how dreadful the soil is here until I have to try to dig in it. Rock hard, riddled with rocks, and no organic matter visible. We're lucky anything grows here at all! Godspeed to my little plants. They'll need a miracle to survive.

Kirby had a visit from his girlfriend Aussie doodle and in maybe 20 minutes of running around outside with her on the flagstone patio ripped his back large paw pads off on both feet. Lots of blood! He of course would have none of me wrapping his feet (I needed another set of hands) and he ate part of his cone of shame. Sigh. So lots of hearing licking and shouting no around here lately. I know dog paws and tennis courts don't mix and it's so obvious now flagstone has the same fine grit sandpaper texture to it.

I bit the bullet and ordered a bunch of fancy new outdoor furniture. The weather is so harsh here, I reasoned this is a time not to cheap out as lesser quality stuff deteriorates faster in the heat/sun/dryness/freeze cycle. The delivery company comes to this neck of the woods twice a month so my scheduled date isn't until April 22. At least the charges are trickling in slowly. Gives me time to get used to it in chunks.

Anyway, I'll try to be better about checking in. Take care all!
