Busy day yesterday whi*****luded my visit with the osteoporosis specialist. Older guy but seems to know his stuff. He wants to start me on Evenity which will be an injection every month for a year, then I would be moved to Prolia which is an injection every 6 months. I guess the Evenity will build new bone, then the Prolia will help maintain it. When I am on Cape Cod in the summer I would go to an infusion clinic there to get it.

The doctor didn't suggest much in the way of additional exercise other than doing some exercises while holding weights - like squats. Maybe going up and down stairs with weights would be good? I am so bad at keeping up with anything not at a class that I am afraid to say I will do it then not carry through.

Today there is only one thing on the agenda: yoga at 10. Maybe DH and I should do a date night? I feel like we haven't done one for a long time - we have been out with friends, but not alone other than for a quick bite at the Mexican place now and then.

DS is currently at the airport in Las Vegas waiting in line to check his bag for a 5:20 am flight. The counters aren't even open yet but he said there are 100 people in line ahead of him. I told him not to stress but that is easier said than done. Hopefully he makes it to Denver, then to Portland without issues.

The sun is coming up and it looks beautiful out. I should throw a load of laundry in and get ready to take Justice for his walk. Have a successful Saturday!

So sorry for DD's BF. DSS is also not being paid and his wife got furloughed from her government job. Not easy for them. Sounds like it is getting serious if he was coming for Thanksgiving?

The sun always perks everyone up! I don't think I could live anywhere that the sun wasn't dominant which is part of why I like Florida so much.

Yes, we were driving golf carts. No accidents thank goodness but we were on the easier part of the golf course so not a lot of hilly areas to drive on.

Sounds a lot like the place where we donated a lot of similar items from my house last year. I think sometimes at the time of a move it is difficult to decide what to keep/let go, but with time intervening it becomes much clearer. I have a lot of pictures in the back of my closet which were previously on the walls in my Cape Cod home that I need to look at and decide what to do with them here. Very different vibe and wall space here.

Your Mom's condition sounds a lot like what my mother went through in her last couple of weeks. Mine just didn't have the strength to pull through it. It was hard to get her to eat anything and I think she just gave into it.

Yes, DD is still happily dating her IT guy : ) He works for the VA, and is not getting paid, but still needs to show up to work everyday. Luckily he is a big saver, and has funds to live on right now, but it's pretty lean. He was going to come home with her for Thanksgiving, but she told him she didn't want to ask him to spend $500 on a ticket when he has no idea when he'll get paid again. (DD is funded differently because she is client facing, and thankfully is getting paid. )

Agreed. I stopped bringing things to Goodwill and instead donate to St. Vincent's. What gets sold supports their mission work. I also love thst they give kids/teenagers who need them vouchers to shop for free before school starts so they can choose some things for themselves without worry.

Greetings all

The cloud parted and the sun is out big. It is energizing. Even the dogs are up roaming the yard. I made a list and got some chores done including getting a pot roast for the weekend. Trip to the pharmacy and then the studio where I made some new things. There was lots of stuff to look at plus the rearranging is opening the place up. Good to see it.

DH went out to lunch and brought home fish and chips so we will eat that.

Liz three glasses of wine and 9 holes of golf! Were golf carts driven? Is there such a thing as GUI - golfing under the influence? LOL Sounds like a good time plus the eats after.. Good idea to exchange contact stuff with the neighbors. They need your help whether they know it or not.

DD sorry your mom now has kidney issues though not surprising. Good to hear that she is staying in the hospital and not arguing as much. Rest needed for everyone. Nice gift to your DD. Is she still dating the IT guy?

CC you rock. Major achievement to get rid of that much stuff. So nice that there is a good place to give it. Please forward a dose of that energy. I don't doubt that place was grateful for your donations as you have great taste. Hmmm i might need a turtle shell....

Any day now Paula, right? You will have so much fun exploring your new surroundings. And getting new house stuff. Gulf coast right?

We started a new series on Apple tv last night - Pluribus. A sci fi thing but no explosions or creepy aliens. It is good. May watch Wicked on tv tonight which I think is a special show ensemble.

You really have to be in the right headspace to let things go! I wasn't feeling sentimental about it and it was easy to see how it all fit so well in my CA house, but only a few things still work here. And having my friend take me to this store, I felt so much batter about it than Goodwill. Small, nice things, well merchandised, and lots of people in there shopping. I bought two things that day - pottery sculptures by an artist who I recently bought several similar sculptures from. And the volunteers working that day were so grateful for all the purchases, which felt good. They are passionate about the local organization it supports. So I felt like my stuff was in good hands!

Love all the organizational tasks you've tackled and continuing to make your home a space you love. When I bring things to the thrift store, I think about the blessings I've been given in this life, and that now I am releasing some of that good energy back into the universe. I hope what I don't need anymore blesses someone else.
