Your daughter has a good head on her shoulders - she will find some compatible. These days that means not only sharing similar views but politics (didn't used to be so divisive).

Since the butterfly farm is a must do for many people, I'm hoping you really enjoy it. I always really enjoy bird aviaries. I find you need to sit quietly for a bit, and then you start noticing the birds.
I am watching the local news while doing my last ever quarterly progress reports. I despise them so much, but here I am, drinking tea, wearing jammies, windows open and listening to bird song. Could be (and had been), much worse.
DD is internet dating. She shared about a terrible encounter, the guy began making racist comments, and disparaging homeless people. So lots of toads to deal with. Meanwhile, I guy who works in IT at the VA asked her out. He had helped her with tech a few times, and she thought he was cute and nice, and he must have thought the same. They went on a second date yesterday. Although DH and I are dying to ask how it went, we decided we that in these matters, we receive information as it is offered, and do not pursue it. She did call us after the first date, and she sounded animated, and they planned a second, so we're happy she had a nice time. Unlike the racist guy. DD did say there was nothing to clue her in on his profile, so she is going to require more emailing/messaging before she agrees to a meet up. One of her friends pointed out a good guy wouldn't find it problematic and if someone did, it's probably not someone for her.
Well, back to work...

We didn't go to the resort next door for Happy Hour after all. We went to our own resort because they had a woman singing and it wasn't busy. Dinner at a New Mexican restaurant across the street. Really fresh and tasty and fairly healthy (not a lot of added goop). The reviews were mostly good but some people complained about small portions, which of course was actually a plus for me. Not too expensive either.
The rental car never moved yesterday but it will today. Boredom has set in. We will do our morning walk and then I will do water aerobics while DH goes to the gym. We plan to actually go to the Butterfly Farm today, out to lunch, then pick our friends up at the airport just after 2. Tonight we have dinner at a restaurant on the highest point of the island near the lighthouse. Hopefully there will finally be a sunset as we haven't seen one yet. It looks like there will be more sun today, so maybe?
Water aerobics is much more challenging here than I expected. He works the arms and shoulders a lot for strength in ways that are tougher than my Florida class, but good for me.
Time to get walking. Have a thirsty Thursday!

Hmmm...I use these in my coffee too. I don't think coffeemate would be any healthier would it???

Well said: "Cancer is a thief in so many ways, and peace of mind is one of the things it steals." My SIL lives through it every time she has an appointment upcoming with her oncologist.

I had progressives at one point - I do remember that they took some adjusting to.

LOL, Justice does that too especially when he is excited about going out on a walk. It makes my knee collapse sometimes.

Liz I like your idea of searching for the best happy hour. I will live vicariously through your quest.
Peps maybe that last pound wants to go to Europe and then stay there? I'm reconsidering my patronage of Chik Fil A. For a long time we didn't eat there because of the owner's support of anti equality organizations. But over time the controversy faded, and it wasn't until I read your post that I remembered.
CC hoping for good news for your Dad. It's tough always living with these episodes of uncertainty. Cancer is a thief in so many ways, and peace of mind is one of the things it steals.
Paula, remember when you could sleep anywhere? One hot summer in the city my roommates and I would sleep on the living room floor because we could open the door to the fire escape , put a fan in front of it , and sleep a little cooler. I would not want to sleep on a couch either.
Diane good for you getting your walking in, even when you are tired and didn't want to. I must follow your example.
Another day with some drama, some laughs, a few paperwork things knocked back. Tomorrow is paperwork all day, but at least paperwork at home, which is more comfy, and probably more productive. I wonder when I should "call in sick". Probably a few more hours, and it will be an email rather than a call.
I'm living in the Emerald City here. The rain makes everything so very lush and green. Its a bountiful season.
