The color of the sky is not good here today either.
BTW did the architect come the other day and if so did they make any suggestions yet?

Argh, I was just in the kitchen, and there is standing water on the wood floors again! I put a rug in front of the water/ice dispenser on the fridge door, guess I need one in front of the sink too. My patience is wearing thin...
I love having scallops in Massachusetts. There's kind of a divey type restaurant in Gloucester that has such good scallops. I'll have to stop there in September!
I'm trying to get ready for a gathering at my house today of some former co-workers. There will be about 8 or 9. Nephews 3 children spent the night, and are currently being supervised by their Grandma, my BFF. I cleaned bathrooms at 10pm last night after they went to bed, because I didn't want any "help". They have been talking to me nonstop this morning since they got up. Right now, I'm hiding in my bedroom, taking a break. I did that last night too. They were fighting like kids do, and I just didn't want to sit at dinner and listen to it. DH was out with a friend, so I feigned a headache and went to my room. They will leave for theater camp in another 2 hours. And then the closing on their new home, a condo, is this afternoon. Hopefully they'll move in this weekend.
Well, back to preparing for guests, as well as I can with 3 people inquiring about everything I'm doing. It's how they learn, right? Whew.
I felt yucky after spending the afternoon walking around an art fair on Saturday. Definitely, the smoke can do that! It is clearer here today, so maybe a nice west to east wind will blow some of it out of Michigan. We've had the trifecta this summer: higher than normal smoke, rain and heat. Although today is gorgeous, and you can see the blue sky!

I think the smoke has been making me sick the last few days. Clogged sinuses led to a clogged ear/bad ringing led to bad balance/dizziness led to nausea. Blech. Feeling better today. According to the forecast the last few days were supposed to be perfectly sunny and beautiful. Instead it looked completely cloudy and brown. Even now the sky is brown-tinged. Yesterday you couldn't differentiate between the water and the sky on the horizon. Lots of people complaining of sore throats, runny eyes, and coughing. Lots of people complaining period!
Today I need to clean up Kirby's stuffy toy destruction mess from yesterday and attempt again to get those plants out of the bed. And do some tidying. My new motorized screen is going in AZ, so I'll probably watch some of that on the camera. I also need to think of something to make for dinner. Something summery. Hmmm.
Liz, those fish are cool! Safe travels, Peps! DD, love the door story. Sounds meant to be!

DH and I had a nice lunch at the place we have revisited from our first date every year. I ate fried scallops which I have been wanting most of the summer. Ideal place to satisfy that as they were perfectly cooked. We didn't walk on the beach afterwards though because DH wasn't feeling great so we came home and he took a 2+ hour nap. Older folks LOL.
Today there is nothing on the calendar. Yay! We will likely go to the beach as the beach days here will be waning when we get back from Florida in mid-August.
Did I tell you about the local artist we found here? I saw the picture below of an installation he did at a high-end local bar and went over to his gallery the other day. Those schools of fish are sold in small groups of 7, so you can start with a small display and grow it over time. So cool - We are thinking of possibly doing a small grouping initially on one of the walls in Florida. Here is his website: https://www.fryingpangallery.com/custom
Time for a Justice walk before the air quality goes down too much. Have a terrific Tuesday!

Wow! That is a lot of driving in one day - be careful!
DSD used to do one 15 hour day from Jacksonville FL to Massachusetts during COVID but at least she didn't have more than one day in a row. I think my max during younger days was two 11-12 hour days in a row and then I was exhausted.

Nice job on your test results! The smoke arrived here full force yesterday so air quality alerts are in place here too. Makes for a pretty colored sun at night, but it isn't worth it.

The fact that you dreamed of that door in Ipswich is a little bit mind-blowing. But somewhat along those lines DH and I have often said that it felt like fate that we met on the dating site. Right away we felt a connection which became much more after we met in person.
I did add the additional bag to the reservation... but I may not bring it back so I may buy a cheapie that I can leave in Florida.
