Fried Ice cream Dessert

Ingredients

  • 3 cups crushed Corn Flakes cereal
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 (1.75 quart) container Vanilla ice cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup honey
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Take the vanilla ice cream out of your freezer and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes or so, to soften.
  2. Melt butter in a medium skillet, over medium heat. Add the crushed corn flakes and sugar. Stir to combine. Fry mixture for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until cereal is golden-brown. *Be careful not to burn. It may take less than 5 minutes*
  3. Take a 9Ã--13 baking dish and spread â..." of the corn flakes mixture into the bottom of pan. Set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, add the softened vanilla ice cream and cool whip. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Using a spatula, stir and mix well to combine. Spread ice cream mixture over the top of the corn flake mixture in the bottom of the pan.
  5. Spread the remaining corn flake mixture evenly over the ice cream. Drizzle the honey over the top. Cover pan, and place in freezer. Freeze ice cream for at least 5 hours, or overnight.
  6. Cut into squares and serve with drizzles of chocolate syrup and caramel sauce (and if you're feelin' frisky add some whipped cream and a cherry on top) Enjoy!

I think Beautiful ranks with Jersey Boys for best jukebox musical. I liked Get on Your Feet and Motown also, the music is great, but I agree that Beautiful tells a story very well.

Another uneventful day except for a lockdown and a fire drill. The weather was pleasant for the fire drill, so I didn't mind standing outside with students for a bit. Its clouded over now, and will probably rain. DH put down some grass seed yesterday, so some rain should do it some good.

Happy it's Friday tomorrow. We have a lot planned for May, and I'm looking forward to all of it.

A 100 grams of protein seems amazing considering how low your calories are. I want to get 80, but struggle some days to get to 60, which seems to be the bare minimum I should have.

Yes, we did May baskets. A colleague was remembering the tradition in his small town was an accepted May basket meant you could chase someone and kiss them! I don't recall that, but maybe it's something passed down from "the old country".

I really enjoyed Conclave. Yes, a spa pedicure is a treat, a DIY pedicure is just another task to complete. Spa wins!

In and out from eye surgery! There was a same day cancellation so they moved my surgery time up. Whisked me in at 10:40 and I was in the wheel chair on my way out of recovery at 12:10. Can't beat that! I am thrilled to have this done and behind me! Of course, I had to get nice cup of coffee as soon as we left the hospital.

205 on the nose this morning.

They gave me some type of fentanyl ****tail as a sedative. I am finding it a bit troublesome to concentrate. LOL.... Hope it wears off completely soon.

Conclave will be the movie of the afternoon. Since I'm not allowed to do anything I might as well indulge myself watch something I've wanted to see. I think tomorrow will be a pedicure... Since losing weight I haven't needed to go because I can reach my feet, but the ladies at the local salon do a much better job than I and I do enjoy the pampering.

For now, I think I'm going to take a little nap! Having trouble keeping my eyes open and focused.

Later!

Greetings all

Early check in for me on this sunny day. I am procrastinating on going to the gym as that is the next agenda item. But I will do it. And then go to the studio. I have some of the same mixed feelings about exercise as I do about food only maybe in reverse: i should do this and i should not do that but I want to do this and I don't want to do that. Oh well. As usual i overthink everything. JFDI. Maybe I will listen to Carole King. Natural Woman may be my all time favorite song.

Mexican food rocks! That and pizza were the things I missed during VSG weight loss phase. We have lots of good mexican food around here. What is lacking is Asian.

So Paula you could OD on Mexican food if such a thing is possible. I suspect not. Enjoy. No clue how to make fried ice cream.

Glad you got to do the show Liz. Yuck on the crown prep. I have one coming up.

One of our gallery members is taking a leave of absence. He is old and not well and just can't do it anymore. Nice guy and he knows all about hardware and repairs and such. A loss. Plus the new person coming in is someone I don't care for. But I will just have to make nice. She is an autocratic person who likes to nit pick. Hope I am just over thinking.

Yay Peps, temporary cyclops! Heal fast and enjoy the break and no stooping over to put shoes on.

DH continues to address details on his bank account. What a world.

Anybody remember doing May baskets? I do. What happened to that?

Now you have me craving Mexican! A new place that just opened around here has been getting great reviews so maybe we will go there over the weekend.

Yay that you got to see the show with DSD after all!

Today's weight was 124.4. Just below my range. I'm certainly feeling satisfied with my level of food and now that I added calories I'm getting around 100 grams of protein a day which I think is fabulous. My 2 new protein bars (Built Puff Bars and David bars are my main snacks between meals and help immensely). This week my exercise has sucked. Too cold on Tuesday for the outside walk, yesterday was a no go after the Dysport, today I've been busy with Bible study and don't feel motivated to get it in and tomorrow will be prep for the Dos de Mayo party. I've been so good with getting at least 4 days of exercise in a week. I'll have to start anew on Saturday!

Bible study went well. Quite a few of the ladies do lunch afterwards but I always decline. The lady that I drive there wanted to join in today so I agreed. We went to the same local Mexican chain that DH and I went to last night! Lots of Mexican food this week for sure! Reminds me of when I was pregnant with DS2, I couldn't get enough Mexican. I joked that he would come out wearing a sombrero! Made the fried ice cream dessert we are having tomorrow when I got home from lunch!

Huh? No food day before sounds weird. They told me I could eat on the morning of surgery - no restrictions - and I did. Oh well, it is all different. Your surgeon maybe had someone barf once. They offered me valium so I was calm. By the time you "see" this, I bet you are all done and safe and sound. DS
