It's great that DH lost weight his way. The toughest part though ALWAYS, is maintaining it. That's so hard to do white knuckling it when the cravings start. Maybe he will succeed at that also. I sincerely hope he does, as he's worked hard to get here. People do. I was not one of them. So absolutely no apologies from me for using whatever tools are available. You are maintaining with a fairly low dose of a medication that also brings beneficial side effects like inflammation reduction. Seems like a wise choice.
DH hung a bird feeder near the porch for my viewing pleasure. The cardinals arrived and are lovely. The &%$# chipmunk and squirrels, not so much. Over half the food is gone this morning. I suspect chipmunk filling their greedy little pouches. One just had the nerve to run across the porch right now! How dare they! Bird feeder may need to be relocated. I don't care if they eat most of the bird seed, but why do they have to run by my chair?
DH and I a very nice time last night. The weather was perfect. The band wasn't outstanding, but good enough for a fine summer night in a beautiful park. On the way back to the car we stopped at a bar in a Brazilian steakhouse and had a Caipirinha, a thoroughly Brazilian ****tail. Delicious. Tasted like sun and the beach. Their bar menu has small plates of some of the meats they offer for churrasco. Neither of us can eat the regular portions, but these little plates look very tempting. I think that's where we'll go for my birthday lunch on Sunday.
I invited some friends over for dinner in a few weeks, and my co-workers for a happy hour a different day. This means I need to actually do things like dust.
Trying to decide if I should go do my weights or go for a walk instead today. My walking mechanics are not good. Doing the resistance machines is making me stronger but it doesn't really work on stabilizing and balance. I know I could add the treadmill, but I feel like I need to practice on varied terrain so I can do some modest hiking in Scotland. I think weights will win out today, and maybe a walk tomorrow morning.
116.4 - up a bit but must keep eating a little more. Always so weird to say that. Today is DH's official weigh-in day and he is hoping for his goal of 180. He is getting very snacky though lately - the cravings are kicking in. I suggest Glp-1 meds for that which is what saves me, but he says "he is doing it his way". Still feels like a criticism of me using the meds but he says not.
Yesterday was another beautiful beach day, followed by an evening of stuffed quahogs, grilled chicken, salad, and rice. Nice to eat home once in a while. We capped the evening with another fire in the pit. The backyard is really inviting these days.
DSD will leave late this afternoon to stay at a friend's home tonight before continuing on to NJ tomorrow. It has been a nice visit! I will be washing sheets, towels, etc. while she works today in preparation for the 2 SILs arriving this evening. DH has planned the itinerary for them as always. I may suggest some alternatives like going to the place with music in the afternoons tomorrow.
Have a fluctuating Friday!

I haven't made Mexican lately - note to self. I did comment to DH that I miss the great New Mexican place we had been going to in Florida. Around this part of Cape Cod most of the restaurants are seafood places - for good reason but a little Mexican would be good.

There must be a farmer's market near here - I should definitely seek it out.
Isn't it amazing how dogs can bounce back after losing a tooth (or even multiple teeth)? The lure of food!

I love that your DH and you seek out musical entertainment. We aren't as good at that.
And you are both truly saints in supporting BFF, but it does sound like she needs to have a bed or sleep sofa in her son's new condo.
I hope your weather improves soon!

Yum! Love sugar snap peas. I'm going to get fresh veggies at the Farmer's Market on Saturday!
Yep we posted at the same time. Great minds think alike. And yeah the food I crave most is Mexican. Just stopped at the farmers market for some tomatoes and sugar snaps. ds
I do the same! If I hold my hand in front of his mouth after Justice takes it in, he rushes to swallow it so I won't change my mind LOL.

We must have posting about the same time because your post wasn't there when I started mine. Good gracious! That glass artist and her demands! Crazy!
I find cheese to be the best medium for dispensing dog pills. American cheese works the best. I simply make a ball of cheese with the pill inside the middle. The dogs love cheese so they gulp it down without even realizing they are getting bamboozeld!
No weight today. I was up and at em before 5:00 this morning and didn't even think about the scale until I hopped in the shower (after breakfast).
Lead Bible Study this morning and have been doing Facebook Market place since I got home, meeting with people that purchased something, answering messages regarding sales and posting more crap to sell! I'm actually amazed at how quickly the stuff sells (I have it priced to sell). It is probably worth the time and effort it takes instead of donating or tossing which is what I usually do!
We had our crab legs last night. Quite good. I think I'll make some sort of Mexican bowl tonight. I should be speaking fluent Spanish with as much Mexican as I consume. If only it worked that way! Besides seafood, it is what tastes the best to me!
DSD and hubby will be here for the weekend. I think I might have mentioned that already though!
So glad you got the fence up for Justice. I bet he loves being a free range dog now. Your new go to restaurant sounds wonderful and she seems like she has a good business model! You and DH really do have a revolving door with guests. We only get immediate family here and not very often at that. Do eat more! Today is a hungry day for me and I feel like I'm eating everything in sight including the not so healthy stuff.
DD, you are a VERY generous host. Allowing a friend to stay 4 weeks is way more than I would offer. My own kids would be lucky to be able to stay that long! I hope your BFF can figure out more permanent housing while she helps take care of her son and grandkids. You have a very big heart!
