Last day posting from Europe! We were in the taxi on the way to Heathrow at 5:58 am. I hope the airport isn't too crowded. Apparently July 15 is a peak day of travel through Heathrow.
We did not make it to the National Gallery because there was no time. Harrods was interesting and SO EXPENSIVE! I saw a couple of great pants but they were too much. Jeans with rhinestones on them - I can't explain what they looked like but they were amazing. And cost the equivalent of $600. Too much for me though I might have gone as high as $300...
Westminster Abbey was incredible. I didn't realize it was a mausoleum as well as a church. So much history! There were sections where more modern people are buried such as scientists, poets, authors. So many pictures to choose from for FB.
And I have to say that High Tea is an excuse for gluttony. We couldn't finish what was on the tray. We do have 2 scones with us in case they are needed during our travels but unfortunately no clotted cream or jam with them. Sigh.
DH and I have been evaluating what has gone well or not about this trip. A few realizations: we get exhausted by cities - we don't like moving from one place to another frequently- lugging baggage is getting more difficult- 3 weeks is too long if going to multiple venues. Much of that is different from how I felt even 10 years ago, but something to really think about for the future. I want to go to Ireland with DD. 20 years ago we drove for a week and stayed at a different B&B every night. I loved it but I don't think I can do it that way now. Seven years ago I did a bus trip which moved every 2-3 nights but even that would not be appealing now.
Anyway, time to get home. It will be a LONG day of travel. Factoring in the time change I think it will be about 17 hours from the time we left the hotel until we walk in the door at home.
Have a terrific Tuesday!

Sitting all day at a fair must be exhausting. I hope Bella is okay. Don't you wish they could tell us what is wrong?

I definitely lost muscle and though I am regaining it, my skin tone is terrible - I have old lady skin now.

Making great progress on planning that trip. So good that BFF and her son have your support - I am sure it means a lot to them.

Lists are critical when you have that much to accomplish. I can't do without them (I can't even remember more than a couple of items needed at the food store LOL).

- Glad you could be a support for BFF and her son. And yay on getting itinerary set for the Scotland trip!
123 on the dot again!
Still tired today. Unpacking the car from yesterday's show went quick. The only thing I'm going to replace for the next show is some cards.
Im 99% sure I won't do art fairs in FL so at this next one I'm going to have a moving sale! 40% off all wall art and matted prints! I might break even on what it cost me to get printed!
Bella dog is under the weather. Not sure what is ailing her but something is definitely off. Will have to watch her closely. I did give her some vetprofen to see if that makes her feel any better.
Home soon Liz! Hope your travels go smoothly!
Busy day Peps! I bet the clean house feels wonderful! I agree about the GLP1s being game changers! Makes sticking to the plan (or at least not going off the rails) so much easier!
You really do have cooler weather Diane. I always think of CA as warm, but not your area!
Painful feet or hips can really take the fun out of sight seeing. A rest tomorrow might be welcome.
We had such a nice visit with DS and the lovely girlfriend. On the way home today we stopped at a sculpture park DS really recommended. It was made of different metal pieces, gears, instruments, fences etc . by some guy who was a hoarder and also visionary.Very cool stuff.
We got home and BFF and her son were here. We had dinner together and son seems to be doing okay. He hugged me a long time and cried a little when we came in. I think he will be okay, but it is a long road ahead. Right now he is just very sad, but I wonder if other emotions will surface. Of course I am biased , but he has a right to some anger as there are broken vows on his wife's part. He is already looking at some condos and there appear to be some on the market he could afford.
Tomorrow I will get back to my workout, and try to add an exercise snack as suggested by Diane of a short walk. I have the NYT Sunday paper to read also.
Oh I finally tackled the Scotland trip and made my decisions about hotels and itinerary for the last few days of the trip. Now it will be about researching restaurants and day tours we'd like now that I know which cities and hotels we will be in each night.
Thanks for the reminder about exercise snacks. I feel like this last round of weight loss resulted in muscle loss too. I want to rebuild strength, so I am focusing on weights, but I need to also build walking stamina and improve walking mechanics. But I don't need to do it all at once, even some short walks could help.
When I was in therapy my therapist recommended I take Prozac daily and Xanax for acute episodes of anxiety while waiting for the Prozac to reach therapeutic levels. Her advice really made sense: You can't fight a war on two fronts. Meaning address the physical issues with medications, freeing your energy to address the emotional, psychological issues. I feel like that's what we're doing with surgery and/or pharmaceuticals, address the physical so we can deal with the emotional food issues. It's so much easier to work on emotional issues when you don't have to fight your biology at the same time.
