My body is weirdly shaped so clothes shopping is a pretty terrible experience. But I just ordered some jeans from Nordstrom with zero hopes of them fitting right and they are awesome! When does that ever happen? The brand is Frame, they are more trouser-like in design, but not baggy in the rear and long enough for me. And high-waisted, which feels really nice as mid-rise feel like they are falling down on me, partly because they are on my triangle/no waist shape and partly because they hit at the numb band around my middle from plastics. Never in my life have I bought a pair of pants that cost $278 and it's totally worth it because they fit! I ordered a second slightly different pair, same brand, $70 more (ack), but I think they might have a wider leg and these might be plenty wide. So those may go back when they get here. Neither are bell-bottomy/flared/bootcut which I hate on me. Nor are they that awful "barrel" shape that's so in right now. Who wants to intentionally look bowlegged? Anyway, woohoo!
Roof deckers are back. Sawing and banging. They reiterated they should finish next week. Yay.
Have any of you ever gotten the deli meals from Whole Foods? You pick a protein and two sides. It's $13. I can eat a lot and those last me at least 2 meals. So when you don't feel like cooking, it's a whole lot cheaper and healthier than other take out of fast food. I got turkey meatloaf, a broccoli salad and roasted potatoes. Yummy. I recommend it if you have a Whole Foods nearby!
Kirby is staring at me subliminally telling me he wants to walk, so I better get on that. Take care everybody!
Don't forget that in the USA binge eating is called "pigging out". ds
I don't think you are mistaken about the choice of words in the ad at all. You, as a nonnative speaker know the connotation, you can bet advertising people do too, and used it deliberately.

Given the meticulously specific nature of German words, that is no mistake!
202... I think I'm gonna have to start tracking. UGH... Also, I'm a bit irked that my meds have not arrived and shot was due yesterday. Just got a message that they were shipped from Florida TODAY! My order went in on December 3. Booooo....
A pop up add for a weight management tool for binge eating came up on my FB feed today. However, the ad was German. I was a bit taken aback because the German word for binge eating is Fressattacken. In German, the verb fressen (to eat) is used ONLY for animals, while the verb essen (to eat) is used for humans. I find this a not so subtle degradation of the obese and those with eating disorders. Am I perhaps too sensitive? Culturally, it's a real put down to use fressen in reference to a human. Okay, off the soap box, but any thoughts on this????
Cleaning of the house has been going very well. I'm feeling quite good about it. Wednesday I got a big chunk done - focusing on the living room and master bedroom. Moved ALL the furniture, vacuumed under sofa, chairs, bed, etc... Then washed the bedroom windows and slider and started washing walls and baseboards in the entry way. Yesterday, I finished washing walls/baseboards in the bedroom hallway. Getting these unenjoyable chores done is helping me feel productive and making me feel a bit more project oriented. Another win was my living room window was fixed without having to have it replaced! Score one for the local handyman! A $70 repair vs. a whole new window. Whoo hooooo!
Workouts this week have been great, too. I'm shaking up my routine a bit. My muscles are letting me know I'm using them in different ways, and it feels GOOD. I know, I'm a bit freakish that I enjoy the soreness that comes from a good workout, but I really do.
The fog lifted early and it's a bright blue winter day here. YAY! It's cold, but it's sunny! For that I am truly thankful.
TGIF no longer applies to any of us, does it? So... with me best ****ney accent, "Have a Friving Friday!" ![]()
It was supposed to be done this last summer when no one was here but they did the driveway instead. I would have preferred that they waited until next summer. It really isn't in bad shape so it could have been delayed. My next door neighbor has family coming for Christmas. I hope they have a view by then. She is pretty worried about that.

Yay all great sounding cookies DD. LOL on the requirements for peanut butter blossoms. Yep Russian tea cakes are one of my favorites. I have a recipe for them that has only honey in the dough and lots of nuts. I also used to have a recipe for cardamum apricot pecan drops that was super good but I can't find it. How fun it all sounds. ds
