Six days until home! Three weeks traveling at this stage in life is just too long especially with the repeated packing and unpacking. We have 3 of those left.
Yesterday's tour of the summer Royal Palace was really interesting. Very beautiful and our tour was hosted by two young, enthusiastic people who are involved in searching for the art still missing from the palace. The art was stolen by the Nazis during the war and the place set on fire in 1944. They have restored it to its former beauty and have been working on reclaiming the art since the war. The young woman showing us the art was personally responsible for finding the picture below and did the bidding on the online auction to purchase it. Some has been purchased, some donated, and some when proven stolen has been taken back. In the latter category sometimes the American FBI assists.
After that we toured the US Embassy then walked to Old Town. Quaint but I guess most of that area was rebuilt after WWII?
We did not eat healthy yesterday. BTW, Polish Pierogis can be VERY tasty! This morning we ended up doing a hotel buffet for breakfast. Overpriced and unsatisfying. I'm ready to go home.
We are touring the Uprising Museum here this morning, then we travel to Krakow by train. An American based hotel today and in our last few days in London. The European ones are comfortable but so small and with essentially no closets or places to hang anything. I guess stuff is always folded up?
Justice is doing well. After a week with 3 other dogs including one extremely large one, he is glad to be back to just hanging with Brandy.

Sense of calm maybe because all your days can be like this going forward?
I am surprised that your Dads place would suggest mixing a suite. Usually they don't.
DH LOVES his Hokas. Me not so much as I could not get used to the extended sole and kept tripping. Luckily my big feet are the same size as DH's small feet so he inherited my Hokas.

That recipe looks tasty but I'm probably too lazy to make it. I did screen print it in case I get motivated after we get home.
You are so sweet to the dogs. Do you put any additives in so they get calcium, etc? I have this vague recollection that when I looked into making food for my old dogs that the recioes had crushed eggshells?

I hope the dentist visit went okay. I think we all hate going but unfortunately it is important.

PS - I got my first pair of HOKA shoes. I'm a convert. They may not be the prettiest, but DAYUMMMM! They are are a little slice of AWESOME!

The day got away from me, I guess. I had an appointment at 10 am to look at an apartment for my dad in the memory care side of his assisted living place. That was a no go because it was a suite of rooms shared by three women. Yeah, no.... NOT a good idea. So, I didn't even go look at the rooms.
11 am dentist appointment, then on to Trader Joe's to pick up some supplies for my dad (and eggs for us) then home for lunch. At 2 pm I had vet appointments for 2 dogs. Finished that, came home sat around for a bit and then hit the gym around 5 pm. I've got to feed the dogs and cook dinner so we have something to eat when Ron gets back from his liturgy meeting with the new pastor. (Though I'm tempted to hit El Pollo Loco for Taco Tuesday!)
Oh, I was in such fine spirits while at Trader Joe's, I bought a bouquet of Sunflowers for my side table. I've a sense of calm lately. Feels good.
I agree with everyone about visiting Auschwitz. It will be a powerful experience. Visiting the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam had a strong impact on me. While it was sobering, there was a sense of its overpowering historical importance that was inspiring. I visited several historical WWII sites while on the cruise. Powerful reminders of the past and how it happened. It was impossible not to make correlations to some of what is going on in our own country today.
Later...
Yes! Fresh would taste much better but jar Salsa would be easy and quick!
This looks so good. Lazy me would use sauce from a jar. Yours is no doubt best! ds
Kind of nice when there is a bonus day to get ready for company. I hope the dental visit went okay.
