Your weekend sounds like it will be glorious! Makes me want to go north!

DH has actually struggled with his weight all his life. He describes himself as always being pudgy. He started doing WW at work after he got divorced at age 50 and has had success with it though from his pictures I'm not sure he has ever had normal BMI. And he has struggled with maintaining the loss after he loses (the same merry-go-round most of us have been on). But he says he has to use his willpower. The VSG combined with the medication eliminates my need for strong willpower because I just eat what a want which isn't usually very much and I don't crave the junk I used to. He still craves his peanuts, Cheetos, chips, mac and cheese, etc.

I am like your DH Liz, not a fan of core work. I know if my walking/hiking is to improve to the extent I want, I am going to have to change this.
The nice weather makes me so happy. The forecast for the weekend is awesome, and a family friend just put together a birthday party for Saturday at a brewery, with the hopes of being outside. So Saturday will be quite busy with a party starting at 11am, early dinner at a lovely French restaurant at 4:30, and then the Opera at 7pm. Mother's Day will be for recovering!
Besides the clothes, also looking forward to freedom from the tyranny of packing breakfast and lunch. I don't eat breakfast at home, I work it in at my desk sometime before the students arrive. A lot of times it's Greek yogurt and walnuts, but its something I have to think about tossing into my bag. I look forward to eating whatever I feel like eating in the morning instead of what's easy to transport.
Sunday I could sit in the sun on my porch. By today the trees are bursting with opening leaves, and it is shady. Persephone is back in town and spring is busting out!
Enjoy your celebration! Door County sounds like a wonderful place to visit.

Oh wow! Another pup! Probably will be very different in personality from Kirby.
The woman still reminds me of my former friend with a borderline personality. She was NEVER in the wrong. Definitely best to just be civil from now on.

News of the Pope even got my DS to reply to the family text group! We are happy Catholics today. Pope Francis was especially beloved by our family, and we feel optimistic about his successor.
Beautiful time to be in Door County. Are the fruit trees blooming? Apple trees are in full bloom here, but I don't know when cherry bloom season is.
I think you have handled this "friend" issue just right. Due to living in the same community, you will be much more comfortable that you can be cordial when your paths cross, but you also know who she truly is now, and can also keep a cordial distance. She is a perfect example of the quote, If you have an enemy, do nothing. Wait by the river and their body will float by. I've seen it time and time again, I don't need to set things straight, defend myself, gossip. These types always do themselves in after awhile, and, well, float by.
And yeah for a Kirby little sister! A 2 dog family. :)
This weekend in Door County is purely for fun. Art fair is in 2 weeks!
Oh yay! A sister for Kirby!
Happy you and your neighbor are on good terms even if it means just being cordial with each other!
