125 on the dot! I've been staying in a 1-2 lb. range which is good!

Busy day driving to my Mom's for her appointments tomorrow. I took her out to eat tonight, though she picked up the tab which was nice! Tomorrow we have two doctor's appointments and then I will make the 3 hour trek back home, hopefully in time to do dinner with the family!

Weather is supposed to be nicer tomorrow. A skort and sleeveless shirt waits! I'm actually chilly here at my brothers house. May have to put on socks before crawling into bed. I absolutely cannot fall asleep if my feet are cold!

I hope once I am retired I find some of your going to the club mojo. I am reminding myself of what one of my friends/mentor taught me, Exercise is the mortgage you pay for a good life.

Greetings all

Another great spring day here. Days sure are getting longer. I dragged myself to the gym and walked even though I did not feel like it. Glad I did. Always a good idea. Listened to the Village People. After that did the studio and made more stuff. Supply is low so I need to get busy. Firing day tomorrow. Caught up on all the gossip.

Nice to find old friends and connections Liz. Good Karma. DD is right - you have a gift for finding good people.

Countdown DD! Not surprised that you have so much to do that there is not much time to think about it. So many tasks mount up. Hope you are headache free. Enjoy the events.

We are still watching Government Cheese but it is very odd.

Not sure what is for dinner tonight. Freezer exploration needed.

Paula send me your address and I will send you a slug wine stopper. Alway more underway.

I think all of that is a sign that you will build community in this new part of the Cape too. You are so good at making connections.

We went to Provincetown once years ago and loved it. We were there during gay family pride week and it was a lovely lesson to learn that families are families. DD was 12 at the time, and she and I went on a walk. The topic of gay marriage came up and I said I disagree with our priest. I think God is always in favor of love, and families that love each other. I asked her what she thought and she said, oh Mom, I figured that out a long time ago. Always a good heart, that one.

We went to the recognition ceremony this afternoon and had a nice time. Several of my colleagues were there, and my best work friends. I got a pretty crystal paperweight that I will set on the windowsill in my home office.

Tomorrow will be two weeks. Everyone asks if I'm counting down the days, but there is so much going on everyday with students, there isn't a lot of time to think about much beyond putting the fires out each day.

The weather for this weekend looks spectacular! We're going to a good friend's retirement party on Saturday (she's leaving the corporate world) and out to lunch on Sunday with some college friends.

118.2

Drippy, drizzly day today. DH is supposed to play golf at 10:30, but that is up in the air. I have to repack for Aruba. At least I isolated the stuff for Aruba that came here from Florida when I unpacked earlier this week.

DH worked in the yard again yesterday morning and is very sore. But he is done I hope (unless he ends up having to mulch when we get back). In the afternoon we went to Provincetown and just meandered around. We walked through the west end where there are all kinds of interesting homes on the water - DH had never done that. We had a glass on wine/beer at a bar on the water before we drove back. A second beautiful day outside after the same on Tuesday.

So 3 small world connections yesterday: I got a note from a person in the FB group where the people were being snarky - he was a neighbor of mine growing up and used to deliver our paper (he is a bit younger). He lives here year round now. Then at dinner last night we started chatting with the couple next to us. Of course there is the where are you from originally? DH and the husband grew up next door to one another! They exchanged phone numbers so we can get together when we are back. When DH called his sister to tell her, she informed him that another acquaintance from their town is going to Aruba on the same flight as us and staying in the same resort. Weird to have 3 of these in the same day!

Not sure we will get a good Justice walk in this morning but I will have to look for a break. Time to start organizing the packing. Have a thumbs-up Thursday!

I love hearing about your connection to the kids (and Peps too). That will be your biggest miss. It was weird when I handed in my equipment the last day and went home without it. I didn't miss it though.

Seems like we get your weather the next day (we are supposed to be drippy today). Rhubarb crisp - yummm!

I agree about DH's decision - I always had my lawn mowed on the Cape since we didn't always know when we would be there. Previously when I suggested it he had been resistant, but now he apparently has decided it will work best. He is very sore from all the work but hasn't even finished it (the mulch needs to be spread). I wonder if kids will do it this weekend (they arrive today)?

I concur on hiring out Spring Clean Up of Cape Cod yard! Great call on Mike's part. I can't remember if it has been 10 or 15 years since I stopped doing all yard maintenance, but it has been WELL WORTH every single penny spent. It frees up a lot of time for me. What my guys can do in 30 minutes once a week took me several hours each week - hours that I really didn't have. Cleaning out the creek each summer takes them about 3-4 hours. It took me a week each summer! Something to be said for having heavy duty tools and a system and extra help!

201.something.... i forget.

I didn't work much today. I did an extended session with my SDC littles right when school started. IT WAS AWESOME. Working with them was the most fantastic way to end my actual teaching. I went back to teach this group for me. The motivation was on the selfish side. I wanted to end on a joyful note. I knew the kids in that class would really appreciate an extra session this week and have fun, too. What i did not anticipate was the reaction from the adults. I could tell it meant a lot to the adults, too. Working with those kiddos today was probably the best thing I could have done. They made my heart sing. The littlest guy in kindergarten grabbed my hand for The Ants Go Marching (we march around the classroom in meter) and didn't let go until we had all screamed "The End" with Ant number 10. Perfection! DD, will understand.

So, now I feel done. I am ready to leave it behind. I don't need to go back.
