Greetings all
WTF it is raining here! And pretty seriously. I went to the studio and got soaked getting from the car to the building. All is well there and the glass studio is ready and is palatial but not yet used which makes me annoyed with these entitled people.
Happy Birthday to Mike! Enjoy the day Liz and DH. Tell all about the fancy restaurant.
Good job on healing Paula. Keep it up. We are all eagerly awaiting your complete recovery and your views on how well it turned out.
Peps many years ago my house had this mirror in one bedroom that came with the house. It was a cheap mirror and sort of distorted the reflection but it made me appear slimmer. I always felt better about myself when I used it. Anyway I kind of think it was a good thing to look at myself and feel pleased even though I knew it was just a crappy mirror. Someone should market such a product. Anyway I can attest you look great so there. Hope your dad can use the phone. Do you worry about scam stuff coming through?
We still have not run the ninja creami. Had birthday cake the last couple of days and thanks to sleeve can't just stuff extra food in. At 17 years out from VSG I still have no regrets (other than some regain). A good thing for me, DH and my late older brother.

Happy Birthday to Liz's DH! (Is there a reason we don't use names??? Is it a privacy thing?)
Paula, glad you got out of the house. Glad to hear that the healing is progressing. Did you have a circumferential lift, or just the front? Is the thigh lift front and back, or inside and outside? I guess I've never thought about where incisions would be for a thigh lift. Hmmmm.....
202.8 today. Odd since I didn't eat much yesterday. But oh well...
I took a "gummy" before bed last night. OMG! Best sleep I've had in ages! However, I did feel a bit groggy this morning. Not sure if it was the gummy or just from a long 4 day show weekend.
I have been feeling "fat" for a few days. I have reminded myself that my clothes fit well, are not snug, and the scale shows that I have not gained weight. But still, the feeling remains. I am annoyed by this. I wore an outfit to the dog show and saw a few photos or video and my reaction was really not healthy! I thought, OMG you're STILL FAT! The mind is a real trip.
Trying to get a few odds and ends done today. Got Grizz to the vet for a final booster. Groomed brother's dog. Got some club business done and a little cleaning for brother's visit.
My dad wants to use his phone, but he lost the charger, so I ordered a new charger for him. I don't think he can use his phone any more. It's too much for him to manage, but if he has the desire, I won't talk him out of it! He has moments of absolute lucidity, which is when the phone comment was made. "You know a phone would allow me to have access to the outside world. The world in here is quite small." He made no mention of wanting to physically leave his "world", but did want to be able to access people outside of the memory care unit.
Welcome back to the USA DD! Hope your flight was uneventful. When will DH meet you in the Boston area?
I'm alive! 123.something on the scale this morning, back to my pre surgery weight. I still have swelling and know I will for a bit.
Showering and changing bandages just wipes me out! I'm not sure why that surprises me after working with surgical heart patients all those years, but I thought I would have a little more stamina. Did make it outside for a very short walk today. It was good to get out of the house.
I have my follow-up with a PA on Wednesday. Wonder if stitches and staples will get pulled. All groin creases and even some buttock creases are filled with incisions. It will be an up close and personal visit. I was joking about that today with DH and he reminded me that it was up close and personal during the surgery too and I said I know but I wasn't awake for that! I'm hoping the abdominal binder can be stopped after my appointment on Wednesday.
118.6 - I must say my body is fairly forgiving when I transgress these days, though tirzepatide keeps my transgressions quite small. I haven't "binged" since I started on it 18 months ago.
Rainy day driving long distances to the wake then back to the house yesterday but we're in drought mode here so it is a good thing. I think the sun returns for the rest of the week but it is fall air now. Max temps @ 65 during the day and high 40's/low 50's at night. Time to fly south.
Only about 5 hours of sleep last night. Too much going on and no Justice here (he is staying with DSIL while we are away). Like Peps, I'm glad after nights like this that I don't have to go to work and be productive.
We do have to leave by about 8:30 for the funeral after packing for 3 nights in Maine. We will drive to DS's apartment in Portland this afternoon.
It is DH's birthday today which we were originally going to spend in Bar Harbor, but we will get there tomorrow. DS made reservations at a fancy restaurant for DH's birthday tonight.
That's all I know! Have a meticulous Monday!

I only have easy access to that kind of information because EVERYTHING is on my computer. I worked in IT related roles for years so went paperless a long time ago.
Congratulations on Buster's success!

Yeah, short legs stink for walking and for having any reasonable height to reach things on shelves.
I really don't like exercise on machines either as I find it super boring. Group classes and walking outside (especially the latter) are the only things I am willing to keep doing. That's why I don't pursue the "personal trainer" thing.
LOL on vegan "Beefy" taquitos.

202 today
Dog show weekend is done... Overall good results, two group 4s, a group 2 and today a group 1. Buster earned 90 owner handled points this weekend. He has 4 more show days left before the end of the Owner Handled year (mid September to the next mid September). Would be nice to rack up a good number of points to keep the #2 dog at bay.
While at dinner tonight, feeling a bit tuckered out, I thought how civilized it is that I get to REST tomorrow instead of start a new school week. Such a fantastically liberating thought!!!!
Liz, your record keeping, list making, organizational ability is mind boggling to me. The fact that you can look at your calendar from years gone by to check something like when you flew to Florida to close on your house and how many weeks that was after your tummy tuck.... A -fugging-mazing!
Paula, how goes recovery?
DD, hope your last day in Scotland is even more wonderful than the days you've already had. BTW, I loved the Gates of Iona post you made on FB.
Diane S., I am curious to hear about how it goes with the Creami. I was gifted one by Auntie Kathryn. She won a brand new one in a raffle. She bequeathed me her original. I have not used it yet, so I'm looking forward to your report.
Oh... I bought THC/CBN gummies at the brand new dispensary that opened just across the street from the dog show grounds. With a new customer discount combined with the weekly Sunday discount, we got 25% off everything in the place. I am now well stocked with sleep aids for at least 6-8 weeks depending on how strong a dose I wish to take. Yee haw! Sounder sleep, hear I come!
Greetings all
Big sun today. I went to the gym and did my walking including the stairs. I am slowly resolving that I will never actually like any kind of exercise but can at least tolerate a minimal amount that is essential. I have sort of short stubby legs and my stride is short. Always has been. I read today that a mile is about 2000 steps. Not for me. 8/10 of a mile is about 3000 steps. Oh well, another thing to whine about.
So yesterday was a nice DH birthday. The lemon cake was excellent. Light and fluffy. We did not get the banana sorbet made. Tonight maybe. I indulged DH by watching The Gorge with him. Not as horrible as I expected - an action thriller with explosions and slimy zombie like creatures. Dinner was some taquitos that said "Beefy Taquitos" on the box. Got them home only to discover they are vegan! I feel so deceived. But they were not horrible. Quiche tonight. Our football team won big time and we watched more sci fi. So all is good.
Went to the studio and did some glazing. One of the cranky glass people was lurking about so I avoided that.
Liz so cool that DD and her husband are fixing up the place for holidays! That will be fun. Glad she is recovering well.
Keep on healing Paula.
The naked lady lilies are blooming big time. The harbinger of the end of summer. The sweet peas finally decided to bloom but they are underwhelming.
Diane S.
We fly out on September 21. Pretty close to what your time line was!
No weight as we stayed at DSD's home last night. Good thing as 3 (small) apple cider donuts were consumed.
Nice dinner with DD and DSIL last night. They are updating their kitchen, dining room and bathroom on a limited budget and making some good choices. What a difference already! They laid vinyl planking over linoleum, pulled down old paneling in the dining room, and painted the walls in all the rooms. New vanity and painting the bathtub. DD wants to host Christmas dinner at her house which is what is energizing the effort. She is a bit more than one week out from surgery so is just supervising but she looks really good.
This morning it is raining but the bus will leave for breakfast shortly. We are staying at DSD's home until mid-afternoon when we leave for the wake which is on our way back to the Cape house. Justice is staying here while we go to Maine for the next few days so we will swing back by here on Thursday to pick him up.
Enjoy your last day in Scotland DD!
Paula, when do you go house hunting in Florida? I just looked back in my calendar and we flew to Florida 3.5 weeks after my tummy-tuck to close on my previous Florida home.
Have a superb Sunday!
