Good to hear you can wait on the root canal. Not fun. And I think the extraction and implant is the right thing. ds
Greetings all
The sun is out and I am doing my usual. DH went to romeo lunch today and brought home fish and chips. Yay, another day I don't need to plan a dinner. So in a bit I will go out and about on errands and to the gym.
So I came home yesterday and heard this machine sound. DH had purchased a robotic vacuum and floor scrubber and it was roaming around the house. After a time of what seemed like random roaming it ran over a dog dish full of mini milk bones and spewed them all over the place. It sounded like someone threw a handful of dog food into a box fan! I thought it was pretty funny. But the thing kept running for about two hours and seemed to do the same areas over and over. It is noisy and became noisier after it ate the dish of dog treats. The floor is pretty clean but I am not sure I can tolerate the sound. Will advise DH that it needs to run when I am absent. Or I will need a Painkiller....
And Liz that does sound like a great drink. Nutmeg. What a concept! Like summer eggnog. Glad you continue to have fun and adventures.
Paula and DD be glad you are not in the midwest. Sounds like a hideous storm. I remember so many in Omaha where I was afraid of driving to work but felt obligated to try and did so. Once I spun out and ended up in the ditch backwards. No thanks.
Yay Peps day 2 of onderland . (stupid auto correct). Put that in your summary AI. Anyway by all means go see your dad. I bet no one notices anything And yeah one good thing about northern california is the lack of biting bugs - at least near the coast. That was really the thing I disliked most about the midwest - mosquitoes. They trapped you inside during the summer. I remember going to a local lake to walk and running to get back into the car to escape swarms.
CC you have a tumbleweed farm!! I always thought they were kind of cool but I guess not so much if you have to pay to have them removed. All the best with your 130 day plan. You will do well.
The covered pool makes sense Paula. Glad you are enjoying it.
Time to get moving as ordered by Apple watch.

120.4, same as yesterday. I?ve been pretty snacky as of late.
The day started out cold and way too early (had to be at the endodontist at 7:30). The good news is no root canal for now. One tooth we will just keep an eye on. I guess the filling is very close to the nerve and they are surprised that I?m not having any pain, but as long as I?m not, nothing needs to be done. The other tooth which already had a root canal done on it I?ve decided to get extracted instead of trying to redo the root canal. No guarantees that a redo would work and if it didn?t, I would still need to have an extraction and an implant. Hope I?m making the right decision! Shoulda, woulda, coulda?..if only we had a crystal ball!
Homemade pizza for dinner. Was going to be fish tacos but the mango and avocado I bought today to make them with need a day or two to ripen.
Tomorrow will be a glorious sunny mid 80?s day here in SW FL while back home will have negative double digit temperatures even without the windchill. Windchill will make it feel negative 30?s-40?s. Many schools and businesses will be closed! Such a brutal winter they have had already! Counting my blessings everyday being here!
Have a great last full day on the cruise Liz! Even though I am a bit wary of cruises because of the spread of sickness, the deals you can get down here might be too good to pass up! Passports should be here in 4-6 weeks though we probably won?t take a trip this year due to the moving expenses unless we as a group decide on something. DH already said he wants me to be able to meet you all in person!

So happy for Peps! I know that's a scale barrier you've battled with.
Today was 197.6 and I have a headache, so clearly I've let all the water go and am now slightly dehydrated. I think I picked well at the restaurant. A steak and blue cheese salad with cobb attributes. I mostly ate the meat which was delicious.
The landscapers have been here since 9:30 pulling out tumbleweeds from an undeveloped part of my lot. The pile looks like a mountain. It really needed to be done during the summer before they dried out as moving them when dry just drops a boatload of seeds. Sigh. So I'll have lots of baby tumbleweeds next year.
Eating still is going well. Time to plan my next set of lunches/dinners so I don't lose focus.
I made my reservations for the hotel in Cabo and booked my flight. 135 days! I came across a young woman on Instagram trying to get into a bridesmaids dress 5 sizes smaller by losing 60ish pounds in 160 something days. I feel like that's really unrealistic. I like my 20ish pound with better fitness in 135 days goal. Maybe that's the wisdom of age. I've been in her shoes and aggressive goals don't end well.
Anyway, hope you all are doing well.
Yes, we are year round residents. The pool cages keep the critters, bugs and flora debris out of the pool. Much less upkeep! We do have a beautiful view! We butt up against a Preserve and it makes our backyard super private! In fact, DH and I are sitting on our lanai right now enjoying the view and the sounds of our pool fountains! Too bad FL isn't on your radar!
Our best friends are Pain Killer aficionados and have taught WI bartenders how to make them. They got hooked on them in Jamaica (which they are visiting right now) so I had to send them the pic of yours from yesterday. I bought Hurricane glasses and will buy the ingredients to make them when they visit us this Spring. I personally like Mojitos, not so sweet!
Pleasanton is just about a 30 minute drive south from my house. I'm just on the other side of Mt. Diablo.
When I started going out a fair amount I thought the incisions and remaining after affects of surgery were really obvious but nobody seemed to notice them.
Screens are on lanais and over pools because of mosquitoes and other nasty biting bugs that thrive in standing water which is an issue in Florida especially in the showery times of year (and also with the humidity). The first time I visited California (Pleasanton) I was amazed that there were no biting bugs at night (Massachusetts has them in the summer too).

They all taste a bit different. Soggy Dollar and Pussers are definitely the best - Pussers is a bit more creamy. But both have fresh grated nutmeg on top which is so much better than the pre-ground stuff. The ones on our boat don't have nutmeg at all.

Good morning!

Well, this is indeed a first in many years! I'm in onederland two days in a row. I believe the last time I was this weight was 2014 or 2015. I can't check because the online site I used to use to track is now defunct. What I do know is that post VSG goal weight (170) was reached July 2012. By July 2013 I was 188. It was basically an upward trajectory from that point forward with one back to barely under 200 drop in the early part of 2016. It is stunning to realize that it has been 14 years since my VSG and that my weight and body size has been such an overwhelming part of my thinking and daily life since July of 2011 when I first started exploring WLS. I stand by my belief that without the VSG I never would have come to understand my disordered eating and spent the years in therapy and nutritional counseling.
So now, I must work at maintaining this new weight range. However, I must also be willing to accept that the 2 pound drop is most likely water from my gut ails (which btw, continue... ugh). It is more than likely as I recover that the water weight will return. But, today it is what it is and I'm all smiles!
I am feeling "well" enough that I will go visit my dad today. It's been almost a week since my brother saw him last, so I really must go. I feel like I look good enough to appear in public without people having double takes. If someone looks intently at my face, they will see the incisions and swelling and bruising, but in passing, I think I'm okay.
Paula, you will be a 12 month resider in Florida now, correct, not a snowbird? The video of the wind at your house was really pretty. What a gorgeous view you have! Question: Why are so many of the pools in Florida closed in?
An acquaintance is selling his home in North Port, FL. It is absolutely perfect for us and at the perfect price point! Too bad Florida is not on my radar.
Cheers to all!
