117.8 - unchanged. One week before I weigh again.
Yesterday we did go to the Beach Club but left early because it clouded up. The humidity is back full force again. We had a shower at the beginning of our bocce match and it is pouring right now. I skipped Book Club because I got into a sudden funk yesterday afternoon and just didn't feel like socializing. Possibly anxiety over traveling again?
Last night we watched Jeopardy and an 18 year old young woman won. Amazing bright young person and very confident. She said she had wanted to be on Jeopardy since she was 8 but had to wait until she reached their minimum age of 18.
I saw the listing of Paula's house which just went back on the market officially. It is such a beautiful place! Hopefully someone else will want to snap it up with the right terms.
This morning I am doing laundry to leave the house neat (towels and sheets). Packing needs to be finished and I have a meeting for the golf association. I am a bit unhappy that I am missing the opening day since they rescheduled it to next week. We leave for the airport at mid-day.
But first a Justice walk! Have a theoretical Thursday!

At least your house will be in the shape it should be in once you get all the things taken care of. It is a beautiful house in an amazing location.
Looking forward to seeing you in a few days!

When I try to reduce the saved paper I often get nervous that I am tossing something that I shouldn't (like a car title****ep very little paper these days since I get bills and pay online for most things. Makes that paper pile much smaller.
Pie of mashed potatoes with hamburger on top? That was what people in the Northeast call Shepherds Pie. In our house we would season the hamburger and put cooked corn on top as well. Served with ketchup if desired. Total comfort food.

I find the packing thing difficult because you don't know exactly what the weather will be and because you don't know what other people wear where you are going. I hate to look like a total tourist. The bright resort wear I wear here, on Cape Cod in the summer, and in Aruba does not fit in anywhere else.
I am like you wanting to have a relatively clean house when we get home. My towels and sheets will get washed this morning.

You're wise to keep things cordial with the neighbor, because you have to live in your community together, but yes, no need to give her any trust. She showed you who she is: someone with whom to have a cordial, but superficial relationship.

Roof estimate came back - what's another 5 figure repair job among many? Good thing I like my house... I think these guys do quality work, so I feel like I should have years of no leak worries after this (KNOCK ON WOOD).
It was a gorgeous day and I spent much of it removing covers, wiping down all the outdoor furniture, and taking the cushions out from the dining room where they spent the summer. And leaf blowing debris that had gotten stuck under the furniture.
Kirby spent the day with a doggie smoked bone.
I'm excited to see Liz and Mike. I think the event we're going to should be really fun! Lots of Plein air painters at a ranch/winery. She should get to meet some of my friends too, including the neighbor who went insane on me. We have patched things up so that it's not awkward or frosty, but I can't imagine ever really trusting her to not turn on me again. Still, unresolved bad blood makes me uncomfortable so this feels like a okay compromise.
I think that's it for me today. I spilled tomato sauce on my sweatshirt and need to go get it in the laundry!
No tips from me about cleaning. Not one of my strenghs, sadly. The farmer's market was quite shrunk in size today, and it was chilly. But I did get what I went for, plus a huge floral bouquet for $10.00. Some of the tomatoes are for tomorrow's salad, but some were for BLTs for supper. So good!
Greetings all
More big sun. Remind me of this later in the winter when it is raining. I have spent the entire day thus far adulting. First we went to the pharmacy for covid shots. They were sort of slammed since Rite Aid closed. Next I dove into gallery paperwork including deposit stuff, sales tax return and payment and related stuff. I tried once again to get an on line account for our income tax information but that dang web site was obtuse. Won't accept my info and won't way why. Tech support was an hour wait. No thanks On to pay our car insurance and real estate taxes. Finally I started shoveling off the desk. Filled an entire grocery bag with recyclables and there is more to come. But at least it is started. In the process of all this I managed to lose the title to the car that we just paid off but then found it. grrrrrrrrr
Dinner last night was a "cottage" chicken pot pie. We have determined that this means a chicken pot pie that somehow has mashed potatoes incorporated into it. Fine by me. We used to have a sort of cottage pie when i was a kid which was cooked hamburger served on top of a pile of mashed potatoes.
Another trip Liz!! You don't gain weight because you never sit still! Good on you. Once you get to Sedona you will have a great time. I agree you need a beach sit.
So DD are you attacking the dust? Got any tips? Clearing the desk off here has unleashed a lot of dust and my sinuses are not appreciating it. Thanks for the tip on Prince show. will watch soon. Enjoy hump day with no work requirements. Tomatoes and green beans sounds great.
Paula your house looks lovely. Bet it sells soon. I envy you for de-junking.
Peps enjoy your home days.
CC, roof fixed?

Traveling is wonderful, but if you are on the go, switching hotels or AirBnBs frequently, it is also work. There are lots of deadlines ,( as in must do this by such and such an hour), to meet. And again and again I beg myself to pack light so that it's easier to repack in each hotel, but it's so hard to resist throwing in that one more outfit or pair of shoes, just in case! Enjoy the beach club today! The weather for Galveston looks very nice next week and I am campaigning for a beach day where we rent umbrellas and chairs. BIL says they enjoy doing this, but when we travel with them it turns into go go go and it never happens. We'll see about this trip.
Paula this house thing is so stressful! Sending positive vibes.
It rained an inch in our town yesterday. It's overcast still today, but I think the rain has stopped. Still chilly, but tomorrow it might get to 70.
Today is cleaning and finally tackling that dust. Also a stop at the Farmer's Market for fresh tomatoes and green beans. The cleaning will serve us well because we'll come home from Galveston to a tidy house. Always nice. I probably won't get to packing until Friday. Also need to get a pedicure on Friday. The next salon pedicure after this one will most likely be in preparation for Brazil! DH started Duolingo for Portuguese. It's fun listening to him pick up new words. He insists he cannot learn a language, but he hasn't tried since college German. No matter what, he'll now be able to get a coffee with or without milk or iced if he wants it. Valuable skills indeed.
