No big tips - my biggest aid is my packing list ahead of time. I make sure I have a book and an iPad with downloaded shows in my personal bag. And always have a sweater or similar for the plane as some of them can be freezing.
DH's birthday is September 8 (so 8 is his favorite number LOL).
After the first six months of no success selling the last Florida home, we got a new agent and buried St Anthony. We had an offer in a month and closed about a month later. Maybe it was the new agent, an improved market, or St Anthony. Who knows?

greetings all
Quick check in since we don't leave for the airport for another hour or so. The airport is only one mile away so traffic is not an issue. We will leave a car in the lot. Easy as anything else. I guess we are ready. Traveling always makes me anxious because there is so much you cannot control. AT least the sky is clear as fog delays are common here.
Liz you are the travel pro so share any tips you have. I am taking only t shirts to LA as I am sure it will be hot and we will mostly be sitting at someones house looking at the baby. Tried to get my brother to show up for family dinner but no dice. He says he has house guests in Palm Springs. Whatever.
Hey what day is your DH birthday? My DH is Sept 6.
Thinking of DD on her mission to supervise the parents.
Good luck on the house Paula. I have heard that burying a figure of St. Anthony upside down in the front yard is a way to help a house get sold. No personal experience.
Not much else. Packing a protein bar and empty water bottle for plane ride as I can;t stand being withou****er for even 10 minutes. Cleaned all the excess crap out of my purse which was considerable. Several pounds of coins.

I kind of agree with DH, but at least it is an option. Lots of ways to store belongings these days.

I'm not opposed to renting at first at all. DH does not like the idea however because of more than one move!
117.6 - not bad considering some of the junky stuff I ate the last couple of days.
Diane S leaves on her trip today: Have a safe and enjoyable time!
Paula may be negotiating an offer in the house - fingers crossed that it is what you want!
And DD is leaving soon for Scotland! Such a beautiful, beautiful place!
We are enjoying just being back home for a few days. The next "outing" is a day trip next Wednesday, then a 4 day trip to Maine for DH's birthday beginning 9/6. Back to Florida on 9/13. Definitely a whirlwind summer which is what is making us think hard about where we want our base of operations to be going forward.
Yesterday it was a good choice to skip the races - it poured and would have been miserably wet and cold. DD did do some betting with an online app, winning $33, then losing it again on subsequent races. She is planning on going next year when hopefully the weather is better.
Speaking of weather, we are supposed to get high gusty winds today from the edge of Erin. No big deal. The rain has stopped so we should be able to get out for a good walk with Justice.
Have a throwback Thursday!

At the end of the day I think whatever happens will be what was meant to happen and it will all work out: closing when it works best for you and you will find the perfect Florida house. Or maybe you rent for a bit while looking for the house? We have met a lot of people who do it that way so they aren't rushed into a quick decision.

All exciting possibilities with a dollop of stress added. Hope the right doors will open to point you towards your new path.
Safe travels, and may you not cross the threshold of Universal Studios!
90% recycling. I guess we need that monetary motivator! I think recycling aluminum is so important. It's highly efficient to recycle and could lessen our need to import it. Good for the environment and good for the pocketbook of diet coke aficionados.
I think some hygienists are just more enthusiastic than others.
Have a phenomenal and safe trip!
