have to have a hernia fixed during surgery. I think I might have one and the surgeon said if I did he would just fix it while he's in there. Do they have to do an open RNY instead of lap?

Hi Miranda, usually hernias can be fixed laparascopically. If you have a lot of scar tissue from previous surgeries the surgeon may have to do it open. Talk to him and see what he thinks. Good luck. Mona

That was great of Mona to answer!! I know Monica had one when she had her lapband and they fixed it without cutting her open.  I heard of this happening quite often too.
