Hi My name is Joyce and my gastric by pass surgery is scheduled for April 13. I have been working towards it since August 09. I had all my tests done by Jan 10 but I heard back from my insurance and they said my out of the pocket was going to be $10,000 and I couldn't afford that so I had to cancel the surgery. It was such a big dissapointment.! My daughter has just had it in Feb of 09 and was doing so well that I wanted the same for me. She has lost a total of 135 pounds and I am so proud of her. Then I heard that my insurance was going to pay more towards the surgery and in Jan 2011 I got approved! All the tests I had gone thru previous were still good, which was a blessing. Now iam just waiting to do my blood work on Mar 15 and then I have to go on a three week liver shrinking diet just before surgery. I know I will lose some weight from that. I have been reading so many stories and the sucess people have had that it gives me hope and encouragement. I know this web site has beeen a blessing to everyone else too.
