I went and seen Dr. B today and everything looks good except for my liquid intake. I am  getting almost 1/2 liters a day but dr. B said that is definitley not enough, It should be 1 1/2 liters a day! I just can't see how you can get all of that liquid down in a day! my stomach feels so bloated with the amount I am drinking! Well Dr. B sent me to the lab for a bunch of blood test to make sure I am not dehydrating and I am not sure what the other 5 tubes of blood were for. He is just being very causius because of my kidneys acting up on Oct. 29th. I really do like how he can keep up with his patients like that!

I came home on Friday, Dec.12th. I had some ups and downs in surgery, The worse experience I had was when I was coming to in the OR They were turning me on my side a couple of times to take Xrays. Let me tell you, that hurts like the devil even if you are not all the way awake yet! There was a complication with the surgery but we have to keep it confidential right now. When I can talk about it openly I will let yous know all about it. I can tell you this, Dr. Barker was great! He explained everything to my husband and brought him into the recovery room to talk to me. I could barely understand what was going on so I lefted all the decisions up to him. On Friday Dr. Barker, Dave and I sat down privately and talked about how things happened and why. I feel very comfortable. Now all I have to do is get rid of all this gas pain and discomfort!!! oh well all in due time.

Well here it is only 2 days away! I really hope this time everything will go right! I am all ready and very excited but there is just one small detail, I started to get a scratchy throat yesterday and today it is alittle worse! I am hoping by tomorrow it will go away, I don't know if they will do the surgery. I know if you have a cold they won't do it but what about a scratchy throat? Oh well all I can do is sit back and wait to see what happens.

I guess I should of updated this on Oct. 30th, when I came home from the hospital. On Oct. 29th I was already to be rolled in the Or, when my blood results showed that my  creightons were 3.5. This meant that my kidneys were hardly working! Well has you all can guess, NO SURGERY for me!  I did have to stay in the hospital and get a whole battery of tests, and be pumped with alot of fluids.  I am happy to say I am doing great now.  The disappointing part to this whole thing is, I have to wait for Dec. 10th to have surgery, and I have to do the two week slimfast diet all over again!  Hopefully my will power will be has strong as the last time and I can get through the two weeks.

Ms.Boone called two days ago and gave me Oct. 29th for a surgery date. It is such a good feeling to finally have a date! Now I am going to crack down and get everything arranged before then. This will be the first year that I miss going Trick or Treating with my grandchildern, and I was having a Halloween party to. Mine was cancelled, but I think my daughter might take over and have one. Well that's it for now.

It sure does feel like this has been one long journey! I went and seen Dr. Barker last Wednesday. I still have to go and have the EGD done on the 29th of this month. Ms. Boone put me on the pre-op list, she said there was six people ahead of me, that was last week so I am really hoping the count has dropped and I will be called tomorrow. getting a date tomorrow would be a great birthday present!  ok so onto some other things.

   Bobbie is doing great, she is 2 1/2 months out  and has lost 42 pounds! she gets alittle depressed sometimes and thinks that is not good. I would love to drop 42 pounds in 2 months!  She has noticed that her energy level is really good now. I remember when she couldn't stay out shopping for long because she would get so tired. Now she can shop longer then me! LOL  Well that is about it for today, wish me luck on getting my call for a date.

Well my daughter had her surgery on July 9th and is doing ok now. At first she was hurting alot and thought the pressure and uncomforable feeling wouldn't go away but it started to ease up on Saturday morning. She went to Walmart with me this morning but we have to watch how long we are out because of getting tired really quickly.

As for me I have my UGI tomorrow morning so there is no eating or drinking after midnite tonite. The only thing I don't like about that is I couldn't take my gerd meds today and I sure can feel the heart burn coming on. well that's it for today, have to get busy now.

 

Well I had my first appointment yesterday at Portsmouth Naval hospital with Dr. Barker. I was alittle shocked because I hadn't heard of this Dr. before yesterday. My DH was with me so we had alot of questions for him and he was very good answering them and explaining alot of different things. Dr. Barker explained that he does not follow all the same procedures that Dr. Mann and Dr. chastnaet follow( Spelled his name wrong), for an example: He uses a 2 week strict diet not a 6 day one. I am gritting my teeth on that but I know I can do it!  He also said he has to get with the Nut because his nut guide is different from theirs. I will also see him three times before my surgery. 
  He sent me for my lab work and they took 13 tubes of blood, I was amased that I didn't pass out. LOL, I also have to have a 24 hr urine sample turned in on Monday and on the 15th I go for an upper GI.  On Monday I also call for my appointments for the Nut and Psyh. 

My daughter started her liquid diet yesterday and she did really well, she is  getting closer to her new life on July 9th.

 I received my phone call today from Mrs. Barns at portsmouth naval hospital  and my appointment is tomorrow morning!!! I am so happy. My # is 802 so i still can't believe I get to see the Dr. tomorrow morning.

My Daughters surgery is on july 9th, she starts her liquid diet tomorrow. i am very excited for her to. We are having a great week so far. Hope everyone is having a great week to.
