On the morning of the surgery he was smiling and patting my shoulder. Dr. Besser can be extremely busy, as the head of obesity surgery at a major NY hospital. He does have a great staff that follows up on all phone calls and takes time to answer all your questions. I would recommend him to others."

"I was a bit uneasy using such a small hospital. I imagined they would not be as hi-tech as the larger teaching hospitals. Not only were they good as a larger hospital, I found the staff more personable, and friendly. The difference between Mercy Medical Center and a larger Medical Center, would be to compare shopping at a 'super-mega store' with going to a 'small mom-and-pop store'. You don't feel like a number, the staff treat you like a friend. It's an overall warmer, friendly atmosphere and the quality of care is just as great."
