I'm 2 months post op. Life is going fine except how slowly I seem to be losing. According to the doctor's scales, I've lost about 46 lbs. I truly thought the weight would just melt off of me. Often I go 3-4 days with losing just a 1/2 lb. I need to get out of the habit of weighing everyday. I know that I'm not supposed to, but when I wait a week, the build up is so great that I come crashing down if I haven't lost much. The let down seems less if I see it daily, rather than get my hopes up. Most of my friends can tell I've lost, especially through my face. I don't think they notice much through the fanny and hips yet, although I can tell that my clothes are bigger.
The surgery itself was a piece of cake. Far less painful than my gall bladder surgery. I didn't even take any pain meds when I came home. I was in the hospital an extra day because of nausea. Doing the first 2 weeks was incredibly difficult, only liquids. But, once I got to add in some cream of wheat, I felt like I was in heaven. Although I'm on solid food now, I still haven't tried red meat, lettuce, or most raw veggies. Cheese, ham, and a lot of chicken. Hard to get in all of the protein. Thank goodness for Fuzzy Navel! I've drank a lot of the Nectar protein. Also Stallone has a protein pudding out now- 6 oz. of pudding, 20g of protein, 100 calories. I've eaten several of those- they're not too bad.
That's all for now.
