I talked with Amy last night and again today by phone, and she is having a hard time keeping her spirits up. Her surgery was open, not LAP, so the pain has been tough for her.

She was taken off the morphine and demerol early because of the severe reactions she was having to those drugs. (I'm going to let her fill everyone in on what happened when she was in ICU since I'm not sure of how detailed she wants me to be about everything that went on.)

Her surgeon told her she might get to come home tomorrow, and the cardiologist cleared her to come home with the understanding that she will need extensive follow-up care through his office and possibly a pacemaker to keep her heart regulated.

Thank you to everyone who sent her notes; please keep Amy in your prayers during her difficult recovery. A wonderful and healthy future is waiting for her now that she is finally on the 'other side'!
