Hello to the Weight Loss Surgery Community...I am so excited to say that I am joining your ranks today. I have been through all of my initial tests and visits, and meeting with my Docs. I received insurance approval last week. I contemplated joining here through each step, but it really wasn't real to me until all of these steps were completed. I am thrilled to say that they are a go and per my doctors, I will be having a reversal of an old (over 10 years old) Mexican Lap band procedure that has never had a fill and was just a "weight" around my stomach for the last 10 years. My surgery of choice is rny gastric bypass.I should have gone forward with this weight loss surgery before now, but as they say, all in due time. I believe that the time is right and I am ready now. I have had lessons to learn and I believe that I can embrace this journey with intellegence and responsibility that I know it will require.
I begin my pre-op exercise program tomorrow. I thought it best to begin the exercise phase now so that when I begin the pre-op liquid diet I will already have begun a positive behavior change and maybe that will help me through the liquid preop adventure.
I look forward to sharing with you my journey and learning from yours. If any of you have any advise regarding the next stages I am eager to listen and learn. My surgery date is December 6, 2010. My liquid diet begins the day after Thanksgiving! Ha-- truly a last meal. Thanks in advance for sharing I am looking to loose 191 pounds. My starting weight is 340. I am 5'10" so my goal maybe a little lighter than necessary but I say, let's dream big....
